A quot;cheapquot; 5150?
Does anyone have a relatively cheaply priced 5150 for sale? If yes - for what price? I'm not saying I necessarily want to buy, but I'll check if there's any good offers, and then I'll definately think about it. Right now I'm just checking, but if the right amp comes along...

Duncan Custom 5 vs Duncan Distortion
I'm ready to RMA my 59 back to duncan for a C5. I thought the 59 was a bit too bright and not fat enough sounding and didnt overdrive the amp to my liking. Duncan recommended the 35. However, after finding out that the stock pickups in my 335 copy are duncan designed HB103's, which were designed around the duncan distortion....its got me rethinking this a bit.
I like the fatness and thick sound that I get out of the HB103's (on the overdrive channel of my jcm 800), but dont like the lack of clarity and missing bottom end. Will the C5 give me the boost I need to get that guitar rocking...or should I maybe be thinking about the duncan distortion? (or something just a step below the distortion in overdrive).

2 questions! 1.SH-5 amp; 2.Metal Live Wire
Hello all! Does anyone know the size specs of the magnet in a SH-5 Duncan Custom? I have a Level 3(12.7K) AL-II Aero Instrument pickup that I want Larry(Aero) to put in a ceramic magnet in. Question 2...Does anyone know the proper distance from the strings that the Live Wire Metal humbucker sits at the bridge? I have it in a Plywood Baby Explorer body with maple neck and you know what? It warms the damn thing up pretty nice! Probably about the only pickup that WILL!! hahaha!

novice needs help
I dug my 69 delux out of the closet for my 14 yr old and i to play together... and found out that the world has changed in past 20 years!! what combination of pickup (that fits) and amp is the current quot;bestquot;? we want to play the quot;good stuffquot; - zep, acdc etc. i always dreamed about a marshall stack but found that there are bewildering array of choices!

Who Uses Celestion G-12H30's Sell me on them.
My main amp setup right now is a Bogner Ecstasy on the Bogner large 2-12 with Vintage 30's, and it sounds great, but I'm thinking of mismatching my speakers, so the cab will have one Vin 30 and one Anniversary 30, the H30.
I remember when Hawkman was around, he had 2 Bogner 2-12s, and loaded one with Vin 30's and one with H30's, and he said the H30 cabinet was richer and sounded better, in general. I'm thinking of selling a Vin 30 for $75, and buying the other for $120. Should I do this? Anyone swear by the H30?

Ltd Mv200?
How is the overall quality of these? The guitar was red, there was a very slight flame to the neck, there is a flamed top, dark orange binding, and it has a tune o matic bridge, 24 frets, a Duncan Designed JB in the bridge, a Duncan Design HotRails in the neck, and a short scale... This guitar has pretty much everything I could wish for. But it's Korean and costs the same as the COW Jackson which i'm currently interested in but which I cannot play. The Jackson won't need updates (well depending on how well it stays in tune, maybe nut and locking tuners) whereas the LTD most likely would. I heard they sold not so long ago for 200 dollars at music123, well this one is 600 EUROS... That's about... 750 dollars I think. Don't forget that it's way more expensive in Europe and I had never seen one of these.
Any feedback on how they're built? Would they match the COW's quality? Thanks for any info

Big thanks to Blueguitar...
He saved me from spending $85 to have the bridge pickup in my Nighthawk rewound. I've got it straight, and I LIKE IT. Never knew a Gibby could sound so much like a Strat.

Duncans in Hamers?
I just recieved a supposed Duncan Custom P-90 that was said to have come out of a Hamer USA. There is no logo on the back, the sticker says quot;3Bquot; and the type looks different from the Vintage neck I have here. I would think if it was truly a Duncan it would have a logo on the baseplate at the very least...there is not. Does anyone have any experience with Duncan P-90s sold with other Mfg. guitars? Is this possibly a Duncan Designed (which I feel is misleading to call it a quot;Duncanquot;)? I certainly hope not. $30 for a Designed?

Active Tone Circuits vs. Pedals
I was on EMG's site, and looked at their Accessories (active tone circuits). At first I thought: quot;hey, that's a pretty cool ideaquot;, but the more I thought about it the less of a cool idea they seem to be. I'd have to cut a big hole in my guitar to put a battery box in, then I'd have to worry about replacing batteries, and I am not down with either of those things.

Pod XT Live
Well, this weekend I picked up the new Pod XT Live. Yesterday I threw down the $50.00 for the high-gain metal pack amps, and after 1 night of tweakin, all I gotta say is...WOW. Im runnin this baby through a BBE 862, Rocktron 120 Velocity PA into 2 Bogner 4x12s and the tones are absolutely death-defying. For $400.00, you couldn`t ask for more, and best of all....I now have a SIMPLE rig. I have been a stone cold Soldano/Rocktron guy for the past 11-12 years, but even the Prophesy has nothing on this little jem. Hell, this thing has a virtual SLO 100 built into it, and Im tellin ya, I cant really tell the difference. Truly Impressive.... and I haven`t even scratched the surface w/ this thing. For all of you fellow tonewhores, this may be the best little investment you could make. To top it off, you plug this thing into your puter via USB cable and wallah....your wired in to a huge POD/ Line6 community w/ endless possibilities, tones, and just about whatever you can imagine. Technology just amazes me to no end. Guys, this box is a winner.
