I'm looking to get a couple of new pedals. I've pretty much decided on a Sparkle Drive, but was also looking for a fuzz pedal, which V.L.'s also makes. They seem like overall they are a bit better quality than Boss. Does anyone have any opinions on these or Boss pedals for that matter.

In general, are Voodoo Labs pedals good?

Effects dependent players
Guys like The Edge or Tom Morello. People who's signature tone involves a pedal, who possibly wouldn't be recognized by their rhythm guitar tone. They're often hailed as guitar heroes, but I'm not sure. Everybody cracks on Kirk Hammett for leaning so heavily on a wah, but leaves a lot of the quot;pedalquot; guys alone. So, what does everybody think? Should you have to be able to hold your own with a guitar straight into an amp to be considered a guitar hero?

I have decided the schecter
I have played and loved to death the Schecter Damien series 6 string. Felt very solid and has a neck shape similar to my OLP but alittle fatter. I still hate EMG's and those HZ's are ok, but won't last long, make way for Dimarzio's. I also put my Les Paul up on ebay, look in the Trade section for it.

Pickups for all mahogany Les Paul Special Faded
Hello all. Looking for opinions. I am currently using a '59 set in this guitar. I find the neck to be too muddy for clean and overdriven tones. On the SD sound samples, I was really struck by the dirty bridge tone of the Seth Lover. None of the others have that vintage, hollow honk. I also thought the bright breathiness of the Jazz pickup sounded best for clean and dirty. I'm curious how this combo would sound in my guitar since it is most likely a darker guitar acoustically than the one used in the SD sounds samples. Thanx!

Strat switches?
Is there a good 5 way switch that really stays in a position unless you apply some force? Or am I forced to be more careful with my picking hand?

To buy or not to buy…Les Paul Gem
Guys, I’m looking at picking up a Les Paul Gem in the next week. I’ve yet to own a P-90 Lester, and thus I was wondering if I would be able to swap out the bridge P-90 for a Mini Humbucker with an LP Deluxe style mounting ring). I’m not keen to modify the guitar in a way that is not reversible. If it is not a straight forward operation, I think I’ll leave the Gem in the guitar shop…

Humming with may SSL-3
Hi Everybody,
Scenario - I have a Strat with 2 x DimMarzio HS3 PUs at the neck and middle positions - a Stock fender at the bridge. A long time ago I removed the tone controls completely. I do not know if the volume pot is the original and it's label was soldered over long ago so I do not know what resistance it is - 250 or 500 perhaps? (it may even be a tone pot from another guitar...). Anyway it is important to note that ( before the job) the guitar worked great and there are no issues at all.

question: Joe Walsh minihumbucker
I watched Joe Walsh play on the Clapton dvd.
What type of minihumbucker is he using in that strat?

forum bros tour of america
i think it would be amazingly cool to do a lap of america seeing the gigging bros play live in their settings ... see the duncan gear live in its natural habitat ... a little modern 80's metal with Twilight Odyssey .. mincer's electronic soundscapes ... stratdeluxe's strat action ... butch's tele twangin' .. robert s's kick ass LP and mesa/boogie rack rock .. kevlar's original stuff ... is it randy in nashville? (or is he strictly a studio cat?)

JB too dark??? Help!!!
HI Ya'll. I just got a new RG42 fixed bridge mahogany body and maple thru neck. With the stock infinity pickups this guitar was very dark. I went back and forth as whether to put a JB which I thought might prove to be too bright or a distortion. I went JB and the guitar is still dark? not what I have come to expect from the JB. I still have the stock 500k pots, would going to a 250 brighten things up or make matters worse? How about the cap?

Boss Ns-2 Owners. I need a favor!
Hey guys, I'm repairing a boss ns-2 for by pal. The only thing wrong with it is that the majority of the wires leading to the inputs and outputs have been thrashed. Could someone out there with a ns-2 open theirs up and tell me where each wire coming off of the pc board goes? I've looked all over the net, but I couldn't find a schematic with this information... thanks.

what humbucker for strat?
well, i got a mexican strat that sounds great, but i just dont like single coils as bridge pickups. and i have 2 humbuckers just sitting around in my house doing nothing, a 59 trembucker and a super distortion. i like the sound of both pickups overall, but just dont know which one to put in the bridge. i was actually thinking the super distortion because with the strat and no tone knob.
what do you guys think?
