I found a Vintage 1978 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface with a pair of new Jensen C12N speakers for $750. I have no experience with this amp whatsoever so, I'm going to need your advice. Good amp? Not that good? Bad? Good price? Also, this one has a Master Volume and in excellent condition. So watcha think fellas? Thanks!

I want to install pup S/S/S for my strat and was thinking of Active Emg.
Any suggestions and/or samples?Oh btw, some says guitar wood doesnt affect the sound in any way with active pup installed, is this true?

I've been struggling with this thing for days now. I matched the wiring quot;color-for-colorquot; and I don't think it's correct. I've been scouring the web looking for a wiring diagram for the DH-1 and can't find one anywhere, so I don't know what's hot, ground, etc.
Plus, it's a 2000 Am Deluxe HSS fat strat with one of those totally intimidating-looking 5-way switches with two rows of 12 lugs, so most quot;standardquot; wiring diagrams don't make any sense (at least not to a novice like me).

I bought this used last summer, and I really like it. But with two small children roaming the house, it hardly ever gets used. 60 watt w/ 2x10 speakers. Focus, presence, effects loop, quot;Ninjaquot; boost on the bass, mids, and highs. It's almost like having 4 channels. Great cleans, as well as the dirty channel.This thing has too many bells and whistles to list, so here's the link to the Rivera site:

Okay, so my main problem is that my pedalboard is just too big. I have seven pedals and am close to experiencing spillover. It sucks! I'd like to consolidate some of my stuff, mainly the pedals I use less, like the Chorus and Tremolo, and have thought about buying a looper to perhaps solve this problem. But you know what? A looper is another pedal!

Hey guys, how do you find the split coils on your prs? Fairly true to single coil(esque) sounds?

I took my Laney LC-15 for retube yesterday and had to play an ugly old German (GDR) solid state combo in rehearsal. The clean tone was tolerable but the distortion was like the nastiest, most unforgiving chemical fuzz you can imagine.

Tried it in a store, and it just seemed so dark to me. I wasn't allowed to play it loud since there was a piano lesson going on, so maybe this isn't a fair judgement. But it seemed soooo bassy to me. Like the only tone I liked was treble-and-presence-all-the-way-up, bass-and-mids-all-the-way-down bassy.

Scott and co, thanks so much for the heads up on these tubes. The warmth and smoothness of them is fantastic. My gibson Atlas that I just Sozo'd was taken to a whole new level with these tubes. Worth the hype IMO.

Another Gibson QC story,who the hell do htey have doing this work? Fedex dropped off my dream guitar, a gibson SG standard in classic white, and in the 5 minutes i've looked it over i can tell i'm going to send it back. I can't believe how sh!tty the binding is. At the 8th fret the binding is chipped off almost 1/2 the width of the fret showing the fret end, the same thing at the 9th fret but not quite as bad. Just over all the binding is poorly done. i'm really disappointed. I don't know if I should have another 1 sent to me or just get a refund.... man this pisses me off.

Hello all..... I have been playing now for 25 years (yeah Im old) And just recently took the Duncan plunge in my strat (70's reissue) and my 82 Les Paul standard. I put a scorcher in the strat and a set of the buckshots in the paul..... Although they are the cheaper Duncans they REALLY sounded ALOT better then the stocks. Now because these arent cheap guitars I decided to get off my wallet and ordered a hot rails for the strat and a hot rodded humbucker set for the LP. (sh-4 amp; sh-2)

what classifies a pedal as a quot;boutiquequot; pedal, and the same with amps. i hear this all the time, but am not quite sure i get the true meaning of it.

Hey there fellow toners. I am looking to up grade the Ibanez tuners on my SZ. I was at Sam Trash yesterday and all the Grovers they had were I guess standard length posts. The posts on my SZ are a good 1/2 quot; shorter. Any body know where I can find something comparable? Thanks Scott.
