hey I LOVE the guitar tone in this metal anthem from Accept. the opening riff has this awesome clear but quot;grindyquot; quality to the sustain. it makes me wanna shoot guns in the house

I am selling a Yamaha-Weddinton Special. It’s Yamaha’s version of a Les Paul Special, that came out in the early 90’s. The guitar is all mahogany, with a set neck. It has a few scratches on the body from play ware, but nothing too drastic. The guitar has a nice cherry red finish and looks great. I have replaced the original pickups with P-90’s and had “Paper in Oil” .022 capacitors installed to give more of a vintage vibe to the tone. But I am including the original Dimarzio DXL 90’s and five way switch with the guitar, as well as a hard shell case. Been watching the Crossroads DVD quite a bit lately and initially I was not a big fan of Steve Vai's stuff (that was really my introduction to his stuff), but I've been watching it more and I must admit I've grown to enjoy it.

Can some of you chime in on what the terminology, and technical differences are between tapping, splitting and quot;jimmy pagequot; wiring guitars /pickups. I think I have some vague grasp that humbuckers can use one or both coils independently. Does this relate to my above questions, and if so how ? How many variations does quot;jimmy pagequot; wiring allow as opposed to typical les paul configurations ?

I don't know why but I just love the simplicity of these guitars. I like older models with the wraparound bridge better though. It's probably the simplest guitar next to the Tele there is. Both single-cut. Only diff electronically is one pickup and a switch.

my uncle just lent me his 70 something custom telecaster and it has one of those nickel covered neck humbuckers. The one's that have 3 poles on the treble side and 3 on the bass side, like a duck bucker.

from : localhost/in depth about the amp used on the Appetite For Destruction CD....and that somewhat elusive Slash tone. I guess I never made the connection, but AFD was recorded in 1986, and the Silver Jubilee did not even come out until 1987....so it's NOT the amp used on the album.

well the title says it all really.
before; i had a 60's wiring setup, with a SD STR1 and a texas special in the rear. now ive put an SD antiquity into the bridge and rewired with the 50's style wiring.

Do you suppose that the custom shop would wind a custom livewire? I would like one with an EQ curve of 7/5/7. Slightly attenuated treble beefed up mids and bass. Something that sits between the classic and the hot.

This may very well be 100% a result of switching from DSL50 --gt; 4x12 cab (Fender) to DSL --gt; Hot Plate --gt; 2x12 cab (Greenbacks)… anyway…
