Hey all, I've started looking for an acoustic guitar so I can play around my house and go to friends houses without bringing around my amp, and just so I can have an acoustic guitar. I've found a style and design I like, but theres the choice of without a solid top which is less expensive, and then the solid top which is about 100 dollars more expensive. What are the differences in tone between the two types of tops? Is it really noticeable?

So for all the trouble of helping my sister move all her sh!t out of her old apartment, I got my pick of some of the junk she no longer wanted and couldn't be bothered to haul to her new place. Which, among a bunch of coasters from an adult bookstore, included this

Now I know this may seem like a silly post but I'm curious as to what you all have to say (even though I sort of know the answer). PLEASE post a reason, preferably things about the pickups' tone and EQ and harmonics... how easy is it to get harmonics to come out of both of these?

I know I've posted this somewhere before, but I want to see if I can obtain a few more opinons before I make a purchase decision. I've got an Ibanez s-series with a floating floyd and a very tight but very thin and harsh sounding Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge. The guitar has a mahogany body that resonates nicely when played unplugged, but even unplugged, it sounds very thin and trebly.

My strat has a Hot Rail in the bridge and a Vintage Rail in the neck. I had always planned to put a Cool Rail in the middle.

Sorry, I know a lot of this has been discussed before, but I just kind of want the basics. I'm completely ignorant to all this, so please bear with me.

i am thinking of getting a MARSHALL 1960B 4 X 12quot; cab from a local guy . it's a JCM900 from like 1992 or 1993 were these well made then or were the cheaply put together ? i am not worried about the speakers i am going to use (2)vintage 30's (2) g12h30's or (2) vintage 30's (2) g12 75quot;s the price is right and it is in good shape only a tolex mark on the side and i don't have to pay shipping !

Im looking into SGs. I played the cheap special faded Gibson sg, and the standard in stores and I could tell a difference.

I have a 7-string guitar with alder basswood body and maple top. I've replaced the cheap stock bridge pickup with an Invader-7. But I have trouble finding a suitable neck pickup, because the Duncan dealer in my city have only one more 7-string pickup left: Duncan Distortion 7b (right, the bridge model!). Though I mainly use this guitar for no-brain metal massacres still I'm afraid that putting a bridge model pickup on the neck position will be overkilled (doesn't it?). So my question is:

I've been playing my LP more lately and am getting more comfortable with it, buy I don't think I'm ever going to really get into the neck humbucker just by itself. Compared to the bridge, its' just so murky amp; thick sounding. For the type of music I like, it's just kind of pointless.

I need an SD-1, and I need it to be stock, and would prefer it not to be beaten too badly. I might also think about a TS9, also stock and also not beaten too badly...let me know what you guys have!

Whats the idea behind a Neck pickup in the Bridge?

how much should it cost to get a music shop to install your pickups for you? long and mcquage said 40$ each pickup, that seems like a hell of alot... do they just charge lots for that or what?..

i was wondering what neck pickup you are using with your C5? anyone using something diffrent than a '59?

Yes, I would very much like to hear a clip with a Full Shred in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck. And I would prefer if it was from a guitar with a mahogany body and a ebony fingerboard, but everything else is wanted too!
