anyone have any tips for me?

hey guys, I was in Saskatchewan on the weekend and I saw an instrumental Jazz band called the Bachelors of Music. These guys kicked ass, but I was curious as to what guitar the guitarist was using exactly. As far as I could see it was a Godin, with 2 knobs, one blade switch, and 2 humbuckers. The bridge had what I would call long saddles? Could it be the LG Series guitar that I saw him using? And does anyone know which SD pickups are used on these guitars because the Godin site doesn't say.

Here are links to a few shots from a gig that I played on Tuesday night. A band of friends were launching their new CD and we supported them. Some beer, mucho fun, lots of music, and some fun again. When the official (loud) part of the evening ended, we played on unplugged until 1 a.m. (too bad I had to travel like 140 miles to be at work at 8 on Wednesday).

Maybe sometimes we (I) give more weight to pickups than speakers. I thought the JB in my swamp ash Gamp;L was too bright or harsh, but I swapped out the Celestion Vintage 30 in my amp and replaced it with an Eminence V12 that I had in a box in the garage and, lo and behold, smoothed it right out. Sounds much better.

I just wired up a guitar using the schematic below, and the taper of my volume pot seems to be backwards. That is, turning the pot a little ways from 10 causes a dramatic decrease in ouput. To fix this, do I just switch the wires connected to the outer lugs?

I'll start off with:

A Tony Iommi Signature model is what I have in the bridge of my Epi LP. It is without a doubt one of the finest pickups I have ever played through. The amount of gain without feedback is enormous. The top insides are wax potted, and the lower half of the pickup cover is filled to the rim with black epoxy.

Do you let your guitar breathe?
Have you removed the tremolo spring cover for improved tone?

this is my favorite out of the bunch. i bought it new and reliced it. it is a mexi strat with original body and neck. i put a brand new set of duncan ssl-6 pups in it, all fender vintage gold hardware and aged the white plastic on it(knobs and pup covers). it has a rosewood board and plays like a dream. it has a 50's style pin up girl on the bridge and also come with a fender tweed hard case. the case is in perfect condition other than the little slide locks were busted because someone forgot the combination,(i'm not telling who got high and forgot thier own combination, i'll let you figure it out). i paid $74 each for the bridge and neck pup and $92 for the mid which is reverse wound for hum cancelling. this was supposed to be a calibrated set i bought from bailey brothers in birmingham. they sound absolutely amazing in this guitar. i'm gonna start this one at $350 and fell free to haggle on the price. trades considered. buyer pays actual shipping by the provider of thier choice.Hey, would you by chance part out the body/ trem?

Where can I get some of these? I was looking for some for measuring Releif, string height etc. Hardware store?

Does anyone know where to get parts such as toggle switch caps and pup mounting rings that fit an Epi LP? I bought a GIbson toggle switch cap and it didn't fit. Thanks

A friend of mine recently put up his Gary Moore LP for sale, even tho he was a beginner. When I asked him why he chose it as a beginner guitar, he said it was because it was a Gibson and he wouldn't be caught dead onstage with a cheap guitar. How bout you guys? Would you gig with a no-name Korean knock-off? Do you?

what does the Lead channel sound like?

I wanna be able to play around with one of these things. any advice on what to get? Price range is- cheap to moderately cheap.

How do y'all feel about these? I just recorded a comparison between this and a new Gib standard SG and there wasn't a noticable difference at all. I can flip between the two and can't tell at all. I'm kinda wondering more about construction. Thanks y'all
