How does the Pearly Gates neck pickup sound when playing clean? I'm looking to replace the '59 I currently have. I'm looking for something very full and open sounding with decent clarity, but not to the point of being glassy, like the '59. Medium output would probably be best. Does the Pearly Gates fit this decription?

What do you think of my pedal board?
I seem to like Boss. It's a start anyway.

Dr Z Mini Z
I played this new little 5 watt amp from Dr Z again and that thing just kills for blues or classic rock. It's little but it's already loud at 9 o'clock on the volume. It's got an 8 inch Weber speaker. It breaks up right away but cleans up nicely when you roll the volume off on your guitar. It has a big full sound and reminds me a bit of an old supro. It just cranks and it's raw and agressive, the way I like it. I'm putting it on my ever growing list of amps to aquire.

Which duncan for this sound....
OK, I may be having buyer's remorse with my Lawrence L500L. Not that it's a bad pickup, I think I just pictured it sounding different.

Pedals and prototypes.
Well here is a picture of the first Plexitone, not two-channels like it ended up becoming.
It is the Duplexer.

Wiring question
I recently picked up some strat parts from Warmoth and I'm putting the guitar together. It's a normal strat with three single coil pickups, but they will be wired in a nonstandard fashion. I plan to purchase a quot;super switchquot; and at least one push/pull pot. I know that this will afford me a lot of flexibility but I'm not sure it's enough to pull off what I want to do.

ROAD REPORT: Bare Knuckle pickups at rehearsal
I know I have to still post the last part in the Kamikaze Saga: The Completion, but I couldn’t wait to let you all know how the new guitar held up under fire at last night’s rehearsal.

A tuning-problem epiphany.
I've been fighting a tuning problem on my Genny for some time time now. I'm sitting here looking at it, when it hit me. Along with the C5 in the bridge, I have two Quarter Pounds installed in the neck and middle. Thats twelve 1/4quot; magnets, (beside the C5's), pulling on the strings constantly.

Looking for a few good necks...
I'm looking to acquire a couple of necks for my ongoing projects. I need both a USA vintage style Strat neck and a USA tele neck, which can be vintage or American standard. The Strat neck is going on a body with the 6-screw vintage trem, so I need the vintage neck so the strings are comfortable to play on the 'E' strings. I'm looking at Warmoth and USA Customs for new necks, but I'd prefer used (worn in) USA Fender stuff.

What should i do???
I have Squier Standard Stratocaster (i really don't know wich body wood for sure but on the site of squier it says it is agathis), and i must be honest... My friend (who is old for about 37-38 years and knows alot of the sound and the guitars) has Fender Stratocaster with same pup's (dimarzio hs-3 and yjm) as me, this two guitars have very similar sound (i know that squier is low end guitar but it really has good sound and it's good piece, hardware is ok and all of that). I wonder because i dont have enough money to by fender and i will not have money for that for a long time should I change the neck? Our friend is luthier and an excellent one and i always wanted scalloped neck, should i do that, i mean if i do that did I throw money or it will be spend in a good way? Also witch nut should i put? I am thinking between brass and graphtech trem nut, i want good tremolo work and to stay in tune. And if luthier would have some good piece of wood witch fretboard is most easy to maintain and is most durable?

Oddball old marshall on ebay
Not to take anything away from Lew's auction, but my tastes more to combo amps, and the bizarre. Bizarre combo amps are the ultimate:

more quot;surf-pinkquot; pics....
ok, the guitar still isn't 100% done yet. i'm still hunting down a dimarzio brand hot pink strat style volume knob (with no luck). right now it has an ibanez JEM knob which is close but not perfect. the match of colors b/t the pickups, strap and JEM knob is much better in person. also it's going in for some pink dot inlays made from dimarzio pickup bobbins in the near future lol.
