Since here on the forum there are so many great craftsmen and i want my Jackson DXMg to have a little more class( it plays great but the solid black finish is just somehow dull) i thought i could ask you guys if it's possible to build something like this?to fit a guitar like this: Lo-Pro Jackson Floyd, HH, Master Volume - Master Tone

I used to have a Lindy Fralin 8.5k paf that I used in the neck position of a guitar and it sounded great there. It was somewhat darker sounding than a 7.5k, but in a good way. Excellent lead guitar tones. Smooth sustain for days. But isn't 8.5k is considered to be a bridge pickup, right???
I am thinking that the pearly gates bridge might be a good neck pickup as well since it has a similar resistance.

what are your thoughts on the Ibanez JS100?

Here is the deal. I installed them into my PRS soapbar (mahogany body and neck with 500K pots) and they are on the verge of being Ice picky. I mean very bright. They are probally as bright as a strat bridge and neck if not brighter. So far, they only way they have jived with me are with the tone on 1 or 2. Are P-90's supposed to be this bright? Or, are they designed for 250K pots? I am new to P-90's, the PRS's sounded like butter like a raw single coil with a little warmness to them. I have also played Phat Cats and thought they were great!!! With the Duncan vintage P-90's, I cant really even get anything warm in the neck position.

Anyone try these?

my brother has an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, with the stock pups, which he'd like to replace. I was wondering, what pup combination would be best for his guitar for rock/hard rock, and soloing? He's looking for a nice rounded tone. any input would be greatly appeciated.

I just got my Armstrong P-90, it came with a 2 meg pot taped to the outside of the box. Any suggestions?

Anyone tried one? I have a Highlander in my National Style O but it sounds like a tin can! I end up playing it through a microphone when I play out with it. Has anyone here tried one of the National Resolectrics with the P-90 pickup and the Highlander on the cone? Thanks! Lew

I own a stock highway tele. In my opinion it sounds too bright (harsh) in the bridge position. I dont know if the pickups are A3 or A5...
Im plan to change the pup some day for a Hot For Tele set.

Well, since the neck is done being sprayed and is now in the curing process for the next week or two, I couldn't stand it... I HAD to see what it's going to look like on the body. I'll let it finish curing like this, then pop it off real quick for the final polish.

Got an Ibanez JS100 up for sale, not really my cup of tea, at ALL!!! Don't like floating trems, or locking necks... It was fun while it lasted, but you can only do so many dive bombs and preloaded pinch harmonics before releasing the bar....Anyway, it is clear that I am a Strat guy, and that is just the way the cookie crumbles....

My SD Pickup Booster is microphonic when it is engaged. I like it except for that one problem. I bought it long ago when these things were first introduced. It is beginning to annoy me now. If I were to replace it would the new ones still be microphonic? Is there a way I could fix the one I have?
