I've been on here for a while, and keep reading about all of you that mod, and some of you make(?) your own effect pedals? what does this consist of, how hard is it, how expensive, and what quality can you get?

I have 2 Strats and a mixture of pups from S.Duncan amp; Fender. Somehow I am not happy with the way the 3 pups act with each other. In both cases I have the more powerful Stack pup from Seymour at the bridge but the original pups from Fender are just as loud if not louder! I have a sneaky feeling the pup is out of phase / wired in reverse. I read the FAQ here on this and I think I nailed this by revesing the green and black wires on my s.duncan - now the 'between' setting on my 5-way selector switch gives me a real chinky quacking sound - yet I am no longer sure if the Seymour pup is now weaker...

OK, pretend that I don't understand the difference between overdrive and distortion pedals...how would you set me straight (in this pretend scenario of course) ?

hey guys, just wondering if someone can help me i've got a jazzmaster and i wanna get some new pickups but i don't really know what i'm doin, i wanna get like a heavy, punky kind of sound kind of like bush just as an example, and from what i've read i was gonna gonna get the sh-1 or aph-1 but like i said i dunno what i'm doin, say i get the sh-1 for a decent heavy sound do i get the sh-1 pickup in the bridge AND neck or just 1 or the other, and if i'm supposed to get 1 or the other what other pickup should i get with it?, or should i not get the sh-1 or aph-1?, i do know i wanna get like a double humbucker though, i'd really appreciate it if someone can gimme some advice thanks alot.

So, anybody have any experience about these? I don't really know how to play anything else than guitar, and I was thinking if this was a simple solution to dabble around in other instruments sounds. It's also hell of a lot cheaper than to get a digital piano, violin, etc.

In the Guitar Player issue about PRS I was surprised to see how many of his guitars are made with a bridge where you can't check the intonation. I've never played a PRS but it seems to me if you're going to pay those kind of bucks for a guitar it better play in tune from top to bottom. Does that bridge cause any kind of intonation issues?

Resoldered the black wire to plate ground after grinding a nice clean area,re-potted the pickup and the cover,new cts volume pot,nice shiny grounds throughout...Noise is gone completely and the pickup sounds really great!

Got one you don't need? Hit me up and we'll work something out. Must be in perfect working order. I am not as big on cosmetic shape.

Anyone have any of the old Gem series of Morley Stompboxes? I have the Morley Diamond Distortion (which I bought for $19 on clearance from musiciansfriend as my first pedal)...

This DC-5 Combo was selling for AUD$2000 and I never tried a boogie before. So I plugged it in and boy, I don't see what the hype is all about. In Australia where I live, Boogies command a price premium over other amplifiers such as Marshall / Fender etc etc.

...would it work if i just put an on\off switch on the hot wire of the coil i wanted to cancel, or should i use a two way switch that let me send the signal to ground instead of just killing it?

Tell me your experience using Eastwest's Drums From Hell or Drumkit From Hell, please.

Got it for $75 australian, and should be here in a couple of days. Ive needed an acoustic pickup for a while but couldnt justify spending heaps on one for my average washburn d11, although its a nice acoustic, i was just gonna save for a better acoustic like a taylor or something. But this will be nice in the meantime in case i need an acoustic live.

... after a day or two break? Last week I took about 3 days off from playing and then picked up the guitar and totally killed it. I've been playing for like 2 hours daily this week and my playing keeps getting more and more sloppy especially speed wise. Maybe fingers need a day off from heavy playing? what do you think?

I am looking for an all black JB (bridge) without the SD logo on it that I'd trade for an emg 81.
