Yesterday I went to GC on my lunch break and wound up buying an Epi LP Standard. I want to change out the pickups, what should I get? I'm mostly into '77 Punk and 60's garage. I'd kinda like to get a quot;Live at Leedsquot; sound if possible.

Ok, Im wanting a Les Paul. However, I cant afford one. Ive been looking for a great deal on a used studio and have looked at a bunch.. I find in the used market that used studios run $850 on up and standards about 1200 and up. Many (most) that I find at the minumum or less, are usually pretty abused. That kinda money I really dont have, but if I were to rummage it up, I dont want an abused guitar.. So...
Ive been looking at Epiphone LP Customs as these seem to be the best of the Epis and I love the looks of a custom. However, I know they are using Alder pretty liberally now in epis and Id like to stick with the classic Mahog/maple wood setup. Now.. I have noticed the price on the Epi Elites has come down some. I have never seen one personally or played one. How are they? Thank you

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an excellent quality Compressor. Any tips, opinions, or ideas would be most helpful.

Sorry for the new EMG thread (blame it on the scotch!), but this has been boggling on my mind for quite some time. The EMG website explains that the other half of an 89 is quot;a pickup similar to the EMG-85quot;. My question therefore is:

I have removed the stupid Infinity bridge pickup from my Ibanez and replaced it with an SH-4..
when I removed the Infinity, the red and white wires were connected to the switch and the black was , well, I guess where it was supposed to be..

For all you guys who have used top-loader Tele bridges, do you like them? Even though I have my OLP in the Trading Post, my initial thought was to turn it into a Tele. You guys have seen the pics of my design. If not, I'll post one. The problem lies in the fact that the OLP has a vintage Tremolo and to install a Tele bridge, I would have to have a string-through body. I don't. I would have to block in the cavity somehow and that seems like a whole lotta work. I could go with a top-loading Tele bridge and solve that issue; however, I have always used Teles with string-through bridges.

OK. I have a Marshall mg30, and it has no mids, only bass and treble.
My question is , could the ge-7 boss equalizer solve my problem???

As much as I'm loving some of the stuff I've been trying lately I'm still sporting some wood for a VHT Pitbull or a '77MKII,(I don't know why I ever sold that one ).

Well, I'm considering either building a Tele or buying one. If you have either a Tele neck or body you might want to sell, let me know. I'm still in the thinkin' process, so I might not move too fast . I'd like the neck to be a maple fretboard American, other than that I'm not too picky. PM me.
