Been thinking about those nice 72 Telecaster Deluxe reissues...the ones with the Strat headstocks and the Les Paul-style pickup and switch configuration. I play 'em in stores and love 'em so I'd say I have bad GAS...

I play high gain music (think nickelback) and need to know it the sh-4 jb model and the sh-2 jazz model humbuckers are wax potted? I really don't need squealing in the middle of my solo.

Any users? What are your thoughts?

I've been lurking here for a couple months, and finally decided to jump in--I have a '91 Predator that I took apart to shield while I had the strings off. I found it already wired with shielded cable and the middle pickup was connected the opposite of the other two. Checked the magnets and the middle pup is opposite that way also--but 2amp;4 pos. still hums--so does anyone know if it's supposed to be RWRP stock, or maybe the previous owner was tinkering? I've done some searches and haven't been able to find a wiring diagram for that exact guitar, so any help would be appreciated.

I have myself a new Schecter Damien series guitar, basswood body, rosewood fretboard, ect ect. It has EMG HZ's in it which I HATE, nothing sounds more cold and sterile to me than these. I have a Dimarzio TZ in my OLP and love the tone, and that guitar is the same wood. I like a very tight compressed sound like Symphony X but of course with my own voice, just that general feel. Should I go with another TZ and try it or go EMG route? I played another schecter with EMG's and it was killer sounding. The only problem I have with them is horrible cleans and shrill soloing sometimes with an 81 in the bridge. I am very conservative with my gain also btw, usually around 6 or 7 so the high output of EMG's isn't too big of a playing card in this choice. Recommend pickups if you want although I am NOT looking at SD's for this guitar, sorry guys.

This is my question vor you: I'm trying to customize my mexican stratocaster with floyd roseII bridge and I want to change the bridge PU with a seymuor duncan distortion (I often play hard-rock of AC/DC and G n' R, metal of Metallica, Children of Bodom, Pantera, Sepultura and some others, but I play SRV's and Hendrix's blues). Do you think It's a right choise???

i will be going for a hot for tele tapped and a jazz humbucker in my tele. was thinking of going for a vintage for strat or vintage tele rhythm in the middle.

Anyone try one of these? The reviews were great, but I take guitar mag reviews with a grain of salt most of the time

how can you identify the magnets amd impedence of pickups, without info from the manufacturer? ive got a pair of mmk45s from the Aria company (matsumoko) and i'm interested in finding out about them. they do sound good and i'm curious to find out what makes them tick
