Hey guys, when shielding a Strat with copper foil, what is an acceptable resistance measurement between two points when you're finished? Depending on where I put the probes of my multimeter, I get resistance measurements between .2 and .7 ohms. I'm pretty sure this is well within the acceptable range, but I just thought I would ask to see if anyone knew for sure. Thanks.

I have Squier Standard Stratocaster with DiMarzio HS-3 in the bridge and YJM in the neck (i don't use middle pickup) and it sound great. What I should change first on the guitar: tuners or nut? If tuners recommend me which (i want staggerd so i don't need string trees) or to put LSR Roller Nut? I would put LSR Roller Nut because it will serve for good time and sounds ok to me. Maybe I should change bridge? So what should I do first by your opinions?

There's a squire body somebody has for sale that i'm very interested in--only thing is I'd def want to change the fnish. I guess I have a few questions about it. first--are all squire finishes the same? which finishes are easier to remove, and are there different method of removing different types of finishes?

Are the MIM strat vintage style bridges the same quality or even the same bridge as on the American vintage strats?

Has anyone had experience with a Peavey Encore 65 watt tube amp? I am curious what it sounds like at low volume as well as cranked?

I have a guitar that is rear routed for the single humbucker configuration. Would routing for a neck single coil be impossible since the controls are right under the volume and tone knob and there is no pickguard, just mounting rings...

I just got a Carvin DC727C 7 String. The Body is Alder with a Quilted Maple Top. The Neck is Maple with 2 Koa Stripes and the Board is Ebony(if that matters). It has Active/Passive Electronics and I'm thinking about replacing the pickups. I'm looking for a Vai/Petrucci kind of sound but I also want the neck pickup to be able to produce a great Jazz sound. So basically I want a good Progressive Rock/Metal sound while also being able to get a good Jazz sound from the Neck Pickup. I was considering putting a Dimarzio Evo7 in the Bridge and maybe a Blaze in the Neck. I know the Blaze can produce a good Jazz sound but Dimarzio's Tech Support told me that maybe an Air Norton 7 would be better for the Neck. Can anyone give me any good suggestions on a pickup combo. Any brand really...as long as it fits what I want. Also, would the Duncan Jazz Humbucker be good for the Neck Position? Thanks a lot, Marc

School me on Soloists! I played a couple today, and finally quot;get it.quot; The problem is, unless I score a hellacious deal, an SL1 or 2 is pretty much out of the question. What do you think of the SL3, or even a comparable Charvel.

I picked up some CTS 500k pots from Lew. When I went to put them in they wouldn't fit in the stock pots holes. They are close, but just need to be a little bigger. So whats the best way to make the holes a little bigger. I was thinking to just take a drill and drill them out a bit. Will this splinter the wood or anything?

Other than changing my bridge control tone pot cap value to .022 from .015 plus the No Load control pot,this PGB/Custom A2 will stay in this guitar...Nothing else that I've tryed in this guitar can give me the clean and clear tones of a 59B bridge pickup,but with that added harmonic content and balls from the custom's coil...I have tryed several different bridge humbuckers in this guitar and it's brought me right back to the bridge hybrid..This one speaks clearly but it can also growl..

a couple years ago i found an faq on how to true bypass a big muff. so i took mine apart and started reading the faq, and realzed it didn't even work for my pedal. after that it just sat around for a while.
