C5b amp; 59n in LP
The 490R amp; 498T pups in my LP Studio have gone microphonic amp; squeal like crazy whenever I'm within 10 feet of my amp. I had a bar gig this weekend amp; it was a chore to get around the problem. Very embarrasing. I guess I could have them potted, but why bother when there's Duncans out there! Plus I've never been able to get controlled feedback with the Gibby pups in there now as they are fried. Duncans = controlled feedback!!!!

Fender Blues Jr. Relic 1X12 Combo
Anyone seen these yet? Here is one on e-bay from : localhost/cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...323097367amp;rd=1I can't find them on the Fender web site. I saw a slew of them at GC Dallas this weekend- a 1x12 all tube combo with a Jensen speaker. I didn't get to crank it but they sounded nice at lower levels. They look like they have been through a war (very relic'd - grill cloth all ripped, etc...) but $400 (new at GC) for an all tube Fender isn't bad in my book. I am going to go back and try it with a Keelley Tube Screamer and see what happens!!

Saxophones???
I'm looking to purchase a new Alto Sax for my niece, as her current sax has been rendered unusable. She's in the Highschool band, and will most likely use this instrument for the remainder of H.S. (3 more years). My budget is under $500. So, who makes a decent sax in this price range? All comments are welcome. Thanks.

best heavy metal amp
this should get a pretty long discussion going. what is the best amp for heavy metal in your opinion. and why do you think its the best. i wanna hear amp models cab models and types of speakers. if you got an opinion on it, then put it right here.my choice has got to be the marshall 800 head with 4x12 cabs runnin celestion vintage 30's. for some reason i really like those speakers. but im pretty sure there are some out there that are much better that i just havent tried yet.

Broken Crybaby
A cable got yanked past my Original Crybaby and snagged on the little piece that turns the pot when you step on it, pulling it off the pot and disconnecting it. The result was the wah always being wide open (bass) when it was on. I was able to reconnect the piece, and everything looks alright, but it's still letting through very little trebble even when pushed all the way forward. Can anyone tell me what to do?Sounds like the pot needs to be readjusted.

String breakage on a Tele
I've got a Tele with a vontage brige, and I've broken the A string twice now before the strings are even dead. I assume that it's a burr oe something on the saddle, I tried to sand it down with some 80 grit sandpaper, but it was difficult to get in the groove of the saddle. What is the proper technique for this?

El Diablo VS. JB VS. DD
so i've been looking at the new Dan Donagen (Disturbed) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) signature models from Washburn. they 2 version of each of them, a lower quality model (70) and a higher quality model (75). one of the main differences between them is the pickups. the 70's got a matched pair of Duncan Distortions, where as the 75's got an El Diablo in the bridge. (the Dan Donegan has a 59 in the neck and the Scott Ian has no neck pup.) now i currently have a DD in the bridge of my ibanez iceman and really like what it can do. i also have a jb in the bridge of my epi les paul and...well comon, it's the freakin jb! so my question is as follows: how does the El Diablo compare to the DD and the JB tonewise?

need some suggestions on JCM 800 mods
OK i for years have been wanting a JCM 800, since i was teen in the 80's. In fact i used to go to a Toronto store every Saturday and dream about an 800 and a 4x12 cab.. When i got older Marshall had changed to 900 series and i ended up buying other companies amps. I hear the 800's can be extremely great sounding when set up right.
