Man, I want this so bad....

Finally found a reamer tool today..... When i worked for a short time doing small repair jobs at a guitar store they saw me using a drill to widden the hole for a larger shaft pot.... They told me to never use the drill and use this thing called a reamer... It's a tappered metal shaft that can widen holes by hand safer then power tools.... The tool the shop had is about 10 inches long... has a nice long tapper shaft to it... They can't find them anymore and i have been looking for one like it! saddly the one i found is about 5 inches long and goes from 1/8 up to 7/8th holes.... The shop uses theirs for making pot holes and tuner holes larger... Saddly with the shorter reamer i have i don't think it will be good for tuners but should be great for pots and stuff....WhoFan

My guitar has 3 individual switches instead of a blade. I was thinking of maybe get a 3 position toggle switch and use the mini toggles as splits! This way it'd enable me to get SCsized humbuckers in the neck and middle (I prefer SC sounds there).
I was thinking of a Little Screamin' Deamon (a friend of mine has it in his strat and it's AMAZING. Sure Alder is brighter than basswood but with the midbooster is should compensate?) on the neck and a cool rails on the middle. How do you think they would sound split?

Right now has vintage noisless in them. Guitar is pretty bright sounding. WIll split the lil 59 or jb jr in position #4 and full on in position #5. Guitar has demeter mid boost preamp...

Alright, so I got a Dimebucker for my Les Paul, and I attempted to wire it up myself... well, everything went fine until I noticed that the pickup would gradually lose and then regain volume, I fooled around and found out that it was the volume pot causing the trouble... we've got a show coming up in about a week and a half, and we needed to practice so I said quot;I'll just bypass it for now and I'll get a new volume pot in a few days and replace itquot;.

For 15 years I've played '90 Jackson Fusion Pro w/factory pick ups and it sounds great. I'm not a collector and I don't have the budget to buy new equipment very often so I'm not very schooled in various hardware. I just purchased a brand new Ibanez RG2570EVSL with DiMarzio IBZ's and it sounds like a throaty fart cannon w/ no low end chunk or high end brightness. I play hard rock and melodic metal using arpeggio sweeps and low to high trick picking. My Jackson has great dynamics w/ chunky low ends and bright high ends. I'm at the edge of sending this guitar back but it plays great; I like the scale of the neck better than my Jackson and I've been told new pick ups would do the trick. I haven't got a clue what to buy or even where to start. Just reading thru the posts on this forum has enlightened me greatly. Any suggestions to help me on this would be so awesome and greatly appreciated.

Hello fellow toners. I am thinking about upgrading my ad50 combo to a ad60 head and 2 12 inch speaker cabinet, and i'm wondering if this combo would be to loud for bedroom use. The head has a power attenuator, so I'm good there, my only concern is the level required to drive two speakers versus just the one I currently have in my 50 combo. What do you all think? Would I be better with a single 12 inch cabinet?

Which neck pickups sound the best for you? I've owned a PG set in the past and thought that the neck PG was amazing. I just got an Alnico II neck and am liking that very much. Any one have any comments.

I'm just curious what exactly makes a pup a bridge pup or a neck pup. Obviously output and voicing play a role. But what if for instance you have a high output bridge pup and you want a commonly used lower output pup for the neck like a jazz or an A2P. What makes a A2P n better than a A2P b when mixed with a higher output bridge pup. Also what are your opinions on pups that absolutely don't sound good in the neck, for example the JB is quot;preferred for bridge positionquot; but I know it can sound great in the neck.

Tested in a Roadstar RS530 with a very thick baswood body , blocked trem .

How many of you have modified your pole-pieces? Is it as easy as unscrewing the ploe-piece all the way out, shortening, and then screw back in?

This is what Ive been working on lately. About 12 years ago my first guitar was a Ibanez EX HSS White, strat type trem, normal average neck. Just a basic guitar. Well, the mod bug bit me back then and I dug out one of the singles (with a drill and chisel ..) to put in a neck hum, then I found a cheap floyd copy and stuck that on, never even considering intonation! What? whats that? Well, I gave that guitar to a friend who could really play well but had no axe...so about 4 years ago I found another white EX on ebay and snagged it. It has always hung on the wall, because it wasnt a great player. Ok, heres the story...
I found this old Japanese Ibanez recently with a KILLER slim, bound ebony board neck and a EDGE trem. The wheels were turning! The neck wasnt even a close fit, I had to do alot of shimming, trimming, setting and resetting to get it working. The trem had to be moved forward about a half inch to work and have the posts reset and the body opened up. I got that all dialed in finally with some super low action.
