One slightly used pair of 16 ohm Eminence Tonker speakers..

I was thinking of building a tele or a strat when my cash builds up again, and i dont want to toil over finishes, etc. What's the most durable oil finish that produces somewhat of a shine?

I'm a newbe to this forum and skinny stringers as well. I'm a bass player who always wanted to play guitar. Anyway, I have a MIM Fender strat that I just installed a used JB JR in the bridge position. The problem is the D string has noticably lower output. I adjusted the pickup closer to the strings than the single coils. The only spec I've found is 3/32 for the bridge PUP to the strings. I don't think I have it that close yet. I've adjusted the pole pieces in an arc to match the strings and even moved the D pole pieces closer.

As the title states, whats your favorite pedal brand? are you loyal? and why?
For me its gotta be EHX(Electro-Harmonix) i love all there pedals, as of right now i only have one, a big muff PI and i love it, hopefully i will be buying a graphic fuzz and q-tron soon, i find all of there pedals have there use, they also sell tubes which are good(as far as i've heard), i am loyal to EHX because i can get alot of different sounds outta there stuff, they also have amazing reverb/filter pedals, all there fuzz pedals sound great(although i wouldn't mind getting my big muff modded) They dont have too many actual quot;endorsee'squot; but they got John Frusciate, and he makes amazing use of his EHX gear, listen to some of his demo's for the 'Tube zipper' it sounds amazing, well im done, long live EHX.

I was curious as to what the tonal differences are between glass, brass, and stainless steel slides.

Ok i was looking in the local pawn shop for a guitar my dad said they had quot;Heartfield Talon IIIquot; (one to cross off my G.A.S.) when i deicde that it can wait as its a bit above my budget. I liked a few other guitars there but nothing stood out.
So i check out the rooted/broken guitar rack to see what they had, i immediately got poked in the eye by a Jackson headstock. Picking it up and wondering why it was there i inspected it, a broken string, someone had replaced the tremolo arm with a possibly home made one, a few chunks out of the body, a perfectly straight unchipped neck. SSH Jackson pickups. But wait, its only $250 AUD? approx $100USD.

At $30 each, the Snark and the Detonator sound like pretty good deals. Has anyone used them? Care to share your thoughts?
Im tempted to replace some stock pickups on a junkpile/project guitar... so I cant get any worse than Ive got, but some feedback on the pick ups would be great to hear before I buy.

OK guys, I can't take the JB anymore. The thing is so bright it feels like an ice pick going into my temple

I installed a PG in my Carvin DC-127 bridge. Basic alder body. The pup config is hum/split coil. Why does the single coil sound so thin and is there a remedy? Thanks!

Old thread was gettin a little too disorganized, so I decided to re-do it. I've added a lot of stuff, done a few price changes, etc.

I'm going to cut one of my 15 watt chassis and put in Matchless 30 watt transformers and 2 more EL84 power tubes. So, gurus, what's the best way to cut holes and enlarge power transformer cutouts?

Anyone have experience with these? They have so many different pickups.

Got a show to play on Saturday and my amp blew. Borrowed an amp from a guy my brother knows and I'm going to have to use it because I haven't got anything else. It's a pretty new Fender Ultimate Chorus, he's only had it about (from new) about a year.

Picked up a sweet MIJ 80's Tele Custom a few months ago. Candy apple red double bound body, maple neck with rosewwod fingerboard.
