Can this be fixed w/o a rewind?
A friend gave me a Texas Tele bridge pickup that had a break in the start of the wind. The break is in between the eyelet and where it disappears inside the coil. I have tried soldering wire onto the end of the start wrap and connecting it to the eyelet, but I'm not getting continuity. Is there a way to fix this without rewinding the pickup?

quot;okay so we'll just rub on the finish and......WHAT THE??!??!?!?quot;
A while ago screamingdaisy PM'd me about having a custom selector ring made for his Les Paul.No problemo, have done it a few times.
The first one we made out of aluminum, not good for paint adhesion,(ouch!!)

For the bridge position, which pup is warmer, tighter and has more low end and output? Thanks!

Telecaster Tribute
I don’t know which came first the Tele or Strat, but from what I understand about the Telecaster, it was intended to be the working man’s guitar.

Best $1000/2000 Dollar acustic
Hey guys, the dogs got into my room when i was at work, and pretty much knocked over everything, including my guitar stand, with the guitar in it, and she got hurted Big splinter crack on the side. Doesnt effect playing to much, but its just...well gives me an excuse into looking for a new Acoustic. She is an Ibanez aw 80 CE NT with fishman 5 band EQ pickups.
So i'm looking to go a few steps up! She ( did ) retail for about 1000 Australian, or about 700 US.

How long do a guitar last?
Lol, this is a stupid thread really, but here is the question: How long do you think a quality guitar could last? How long time does it take before a guitar needs refretting or other major surgery?

Today was THE Performance
Well we had our music competition today at our Winter Carnival..... sad tosay, we owned all the other classes, I'm a senior. I didn't mess up once and we sounded tight as hell, and we only fit in one hour of practice as a band, butt hen again we're all top musicians in our class. he only downer is that there's a rumor going around saying that the techies were tampering with vlume outputs through the PA and other systems. When I played, I felt like it was at a lower volume than before, and after we got off stage I checked my amp. Someone turned down my volume control to 12 o'clock, and my master was at 12 i'clock. So my amp was running at 1/4 power really. When I had left it this morning it was at full volume and 12o'clock master volume which was perfect. My first solo was faint but then second solo and finishing solo cut through, thankfuly. I'm really happy with how we did and I'm always going to remember this day. It felt so amazing to play in front of 800 people, knwoing I did awesome. We also got a standing ovation, no other class did! Sweet, just sweet. P.S. We did old time rock and roll, with the cow bell and a harmonica solo thrown in.

Acoustic guitar saddle help.
I finally got around to shaping the saddle for my freebie Conn acoustic. I've got it to where it fits the bridge slot nice and snug, and fits well. I'm not sure how to approach shaping the top, however. All the links I can find assume you're replacing a saddle and have you use the old one for a pattern. I don't have the old saddle. Anyone have some tips, and/or links?

FS: Peavey 5150 head
I still love the amp, but I'm a fickle guy and I've decided I need something else a lot more.

GAS for an SG with P90's
All this talk of SG's on the forum has started another case of the GAAASSS...this time for an SG with P90's, in the dark wine color that Townsend used, like this: Musician Friend had an exclusive on SG Classic's on sale for $849 recently, but they since gone up in price, they are red, plus I question the QC for an exclusive run for a retailer. For instance, I have heard that the Les Paul's that are made for Guitar Center aren't as nice as the regular line.

Danelectro U-2: P90 mod
I've got a Danelectro U-2 Re-issue (first ever guitar) that I've left alone for quite some time. I'd almost forgot I had it until I read about another member who'd fitted a P90 to his U-1. Does anybody know how I'd go about this? I guess I'd have to cut a bigger pickup hole to acommodate the P90. Any tips on this I'd be greatful for. Also any pickup reccommendations would be useful.
Cheers,

Peavey rockmaster in fx loop?
I just purchased a Peavey Rockmaster from another forum member. I have not received it yet but am wondering if when I get it I could run it in my fx loop instead of in front of the amp. I am trying to trick my 2 channel rectifier into being 3 channels and want to use the rockmaster in the fx loop when the clean channel is on to give me a slightly dirty rythm like the deftones song quot;Changequot;.
I sing and play guitar and have an elaborate midi switching setup so I need to hit one button and go from tone to tone etc. as to minimize my brainwork and toe tapping. I use a Digital music corp GCX audio switcher as well and want to change channels on the rockmaster via the GCX instead of using the footswitch all the time. Is this possible? I change channels on the amp with the GCX so in essence I should be able to but the rockmaster is a 3 channel preamp so now I am confused? Thanks for any help.
