I will be coming in to a bit of money sometime this month or next. Part of me would love to spend it all on gear, but unfortunately I am too sensible to do that I need to put some of it away for moving-related expenses (I am moving to Vancouver in the fall), but the rest is free and clear. I won't be able to buy everything on my wish list, but I'll at least be able to put a fairly big dent in it.

anyone know a custom guitar strap site? preferably leather and something that i could have like a name put in it...

How is it's brightness and mids compared to a JB?

I'm putting my Cambridge up for sale. It's 30w, two channels, 10quot; Celestion Bull Dog speaker, with a really good reverb and tremolo built in. It's a hybrid amp (solid state with a 12AX7 in the preamp), the precursor to the Valvetronics amps. It's got one 10quot; speaker, with an extension out for a cabinet. It's a good little bedroom amp that you can use at low levels with out tone degrading. The clean channel breaks up nicely when cranked. I will include the Vox footswitch I bought for it too. Both are in excellent shape, barely a mark on either. They have not left my bedroom except to move. $130 plus shipping for the amp and footswitch.Here is something from the Vox site.

I'm new to guitar.. I have a Squier Strat and I was thinking about putting hot rails along with laces.. That being said, does it matter where you put it? My friends tell me to put the best pickup on the bridge position. why? and finally, What combination should I go for? I play mostly blues, Like Clapton and A lil rock, So I figured Hot Rails with laces would be good for it.

Ok, I've got a TB-05, ie a trembucker spaced Duncan Custom. I'm now using that pickup in my Gibson, so I'm looking to swap it for a SH-05, ie a normal spaced Duncan Custom.

What are the tonal differences between Polyurethane finishes and Nitrocellulose lacquer? Is it a huge difference if there is any?

I need 2 new humbuckers for my LP. I was considering the antiquities, bridge and neck, but want the versatility of 4 wire conductor humbuckers.
Are the antiquity humbuckers 2 wire or 4?

Hey guys. I have an Epiphone bridge pickup here that has a nickel cover. I want to remove the nickel cover to use with a '59 that i have on the way. The only thing that appears to be keeping the cover attached to the rest of the pickup is 2 big blobs of solder on the edge of the baseplate. I tried to melt this solder with a normal soldering iron, but it didn't really do much. Would epiphone have used some sort of special solder to attach the cover? A little help would be appreciated. I don't wanna ruin the shiny nickel finish or something.

ok i have a guitar that doesn't want to play nice. when i loosen the truss rod nut, the nut just gets real loose and no relief is added to the neck. what do i do to get it to add relief when the truss rod nut is loosened? the neck is perfectly pin straight right now and it needs a bit of relief added. i have it sitting actually tuned up real high and the truss rod nut sligthly loose with hopes that the strings will pull the neck up a bit and add the needed relief. is this a good idea or not?

anybody know of any high quality 1 watt all tube amps. i dont care if it is a head or a combo. i just need very low power for bedroom levels. even STRATSANDAKS' 5 watt silverface fender champ is loud as hell(and sounds damn good too).

How good is the grade of neck and body wood for Squire guitars? About 2 weeks ago I played one but I can't remember the model name. Maple neck, 2 P90 pickups, 3 way toggle, a big black pickguard and I think two volumes and two tones. The pots and toggle felt very cheap but the thing that amazed me was how comfortable and playable the neck was for such an inexpensive guitar. Really one of the better feeling necks I've ever tried. Offhand I thought it might make a good project guitar (new pickups and electronics) but again, I'd like to know if the neck and body woods are of any quality. Thanks.
