i'm just wondering since it looks like a les paul, how much like a les paul is it? I'm not too fond of the necks on les pauls...I don't like the upper fret access and I don't like the super glossy paint on the back of the neck...

thoughts?

hey .. isn't that an Eclipse ?
Its close to a truckster though. But i don't know where's it made in, the feel isn't quite the same as LP .. slight difference. It has its own ESP sound

yeah, it's an eclipse....

it's made in the US...the ltd's are made overseas...

yep, it's an eclipse but surely not made in the US. LTDs are made in korea and Real ESPs are made in Japan, they don't produce in the US.

not true...the parts come from overseas but they're made in california

Having a USA made line would give me at least one good thing to say about ESP´s business model

from : localhost/ESP offer any guitars made in the U.S.?
We have offered some limited production models built in the USA in years past, but currently do not offer any guitars built in the USA.quot;

As far as the Eclipse: it LOOKS like a Lester... but as soon as you pick it up yóu´ll soon notice it´s not... the thinner body costs weight and tone ... more like playing a thicker SG with a maple top.... AFAIK they also have gloyy finished necks, so sandpaper may be your only release there

i've played an LTD version and it did have the glossy neck...I didn't know if the actual ESP version had the same thing...

I generally agree.... but I have a future to consider, and constantly buying overseas products doesn´t exactly make it MORE likely for US companiees to stop sending jobs overseas... especially if people are buying more expensive copies instead of the originals (not necessarily in this case, but in many others)

Very true... I´d probably still buy a Hamer or Heritage, though.. esp. if the neck is probably gonna wind up stripped anyway

what kinda jackson do you have? dinky?

yeah, ESP made in Japan.
no wonder They have the George Lynch KAMIKAZE single humbucker guitar

They are REALLY good guitars. I like them because I don't particularly like Gibson Les Pauls. The Eclipse II for me is an improvement on the design. I like the cutaway, tummy cut, thinner body, great neck profile, etc. And you won't see the QC issues on ESP Japan guitars even near the extent as Gibson USA. That's not opinion either, it's just true. Well....I don't dislike Gibson Les Pauls. They just have a bunch of things that bug me. Not real comfortable for me to play.
