Here's the deal. The guitar is a PRS Santana SE with humbuckers. Classic rock with a hard rock edge, and some heavier blues is the style(think old Humble Pie). Also like the P-90 tone as well. The pickup swap is what I'm going for. The amp is a Tubeworks 6150. Can't stand harsh treble, but don't mind brightness per say(Led Zep 1 tele solos are a fave).
I've read the forum, and listened over and over to the sound clips of the seymour duncan pickups.
To my ears the jazz and Seth Lovers seem to have that certain personality that sound good for my tastes. Airy, clear, but a good vintage dirt tone.
Am I crazy to pick the two pickups that probably don't define the modern high gain sound when I do like Dave Navarro, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam as well?
Am I missing something thinking that the general consensus that I've read is that I should be leaning towards a '59, or Custom Custom in the bridge instead of the Seth Lover?
What difference would having the Seth Lover over the Jazz in the neck make?
I probably use some gain as equally as clean.
Thanks in advance.

Seths are great clean or driven, but my fave PAF clones are the Pearly Gates, which are a bit tighter and handle high gain a bit better.

After more reading and listening, I think I'm going to go with the Pearly Gates in the bridge and the Jazz in the neck. The amp is very versatile and can add whatever sound shaping is needed.
Humble Pie, Black Crowes, but with some Led Zep 1 tones.
Do these pickups make sense?
