I can't decided on a good neck pickup for my goth lp w/floyd, i was think the EMG 60a, 60 or 81 i want one thats has real buttery smooth solos and not so much bass

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I won't comment as I just can't. I did play a Duncan Distortion in a Les Paul type guitar a while back at NAMM and I thought it was a very good pickup. Not my cup of tea musically speaking, so I'm not qualified to answer this question.

So, big bump for a metal guy. Where's Jolly or Mr. HM when I need them!

Jolly loves the Jazz model in his Les Pauls for metal. Really loves them.

Yeah Scott, I saw this thread, but seeing as he has a Floyd on his Les Paul, I wasn't sure what type of advice to give.

I just love it when I get mentioned by Scott and I don't know about it... scary. Originally Posted by Scott_FSo, big bump for a metal guy. Where's Jolly or Mr. HM when I need them!

I wouldn't describe any active EMGs as buttery but an 85 or 89 in the neck is very nice indeed imo.
