I am looking for a Multi FX Unit. Floor of rack unit is fine.

I am mainly going to use the, compression/sustainer, delay, and reverb. Chorus, phasers, falange, ect will be used for weird noises and for making samples.

I will be using mainly to record with.

I dont need distortion or amp modeling as I wont be using either of those functions.

$300 is my limit. I would prefer to get somthing new that way if I have trouble or dont like it I can return it.

I have been looking at..
Rocktron Expression
Boss ME50
Yahama Magicstomp

any others I should look at? anyone have any experience with these?
thanks,
edm

Eric,

This question is dependent on many other factors.

What amp/guitar combination do you use?

In what setting will you be using this setup?

What style of music will you be playing?

What is the configuration of your band?

This is a good place to start. Answer these questions, and we will certainly offer some recommendations.

Stephen

LesStrat is right, if you arent looking for amp modeling or distortions, then what? but many multieffect have that...
either way you should take a look at the Zoom items, they are ok, but there are more quality products you should look.

i'd go with the Boss ME-50, I want one as well!

Step up to $399 for a Line6 POD XT Live or a BOSS GT-6.

I have the boss GT-8 and it has an amp control function which changes my amp channels (clean to distortion).. works great if you want to use your amps preamp

No amp, right to a computer. But I still don't want an amp modeler if I ever wanted to change the sound and have an amp thrown in I can do that on the computer. I can do fx on there to but I interact with the fx better when I have them in front of me. It doesnt sound like I just went back and added an fx to the sound.

I dont know what it would be called. Some songs are really mellow and laid back with just some clean guitars and others are fx heavy on everything. Think Pink Floyd, Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan Solo album, The Cure, and the blues. Also its mostly instrumentals.

No band just myself for this setup.

I dont need or want amp modelers. I just need an FX unit. If there is distortion or a few amp modeles in them oh well I just wont be using it. But I dont want to go the POD route because they are mainly amp modelers with a few fx thrown in and that is not what I am after. I have my distortions, I have my amps if needed. I just need fx. Something that is easy to use and I can program it the way I want.Originally Posted by MrHeavyMetalStep up to $399 for a Line6 POD XT Live or a BOSS GT-6.

I have thought about those but I dont want the Line 6 modelers and the boss to much stuff I would never use and it would just be a wast of money.

thanks for the help so far,
edm
