40 watts! Holy crap. I finally got a 40-watt iron after always using 25-watts and soldering is so much easier and faster. I know this isn’t news to the many electronic experts on the forum, but to anyone else like me, get an iron that’s 40-watts!
Ya. That works well, but if you already have a 15-15wt iron lying around, instead of buying a 40wt iron and throwing it in a drawer, you could also consider buying a gun (~100-150wt) and having two tools for different types of jobs. Irons are great for fine little work around comples switches, and especially if you have a preamp or something in there, work around that.
Irons are just quot;bangquot;, it's done. Wires and pots, its my tool of choice. Just don't hold it in one place too long, or you could damage something (if nothing else, your fingers if you're holding wire nearby!).

I was wanting to know If what Im hearing in the soundclips on the emg site is what im getting. Its been pretty truthful on the 81 and 85.I just read a few reviews that said they are low output, but the soundclips seem to be higher output then the EMG-89 I have in the bridge of my BC rich.
So, Anyone know?
Telecaster set? They are actually quite good sounding. You get a pretty good traditional tele sound with a little EMG flavor. Not bad at all.

from : localhost/just read on this web page that the early Esquire
had a hole in place of the neck pickup under the pickguard.
I thought the whole point of having only one pickup was to have
more wood, thus better resonance?!?!?!?

Ok so i just put in a brand new F spaced breed in my strat and look at the pole to string alignment...
i know it's f spaced b/c it was A) in a sealed box with a big F spaced sticker on it and B) it lines up with my f spaced tone zone i had sitting around. i don't get why the strings/poles don't line up.
any ideas why it's doing this with an f-spaced PU? if it was regular spaced i know it would do it, but why with the F? is the string spread on my strat just abnormal...lol.

If you had to choose a pup to emulate a saxophone which would it be?
I'd get a Roland Synth pickup and synthesizer. If you're just wanting to emulate sax on guitar, I'd use a low to mid output pickup, like a '59 or Pearly Gates and boost it with a pedal (just a slight overdrive to create some breakup), maybe something like DOD's Mystic Blues or something similar.

Are the Duncan 59's more noisey then some of the other Duncan humbuckers out there? Mine seems to have some interference or noise that does not happen with my other guitars. And yes the guitar is sheilded and the wireing is 100% correct, which was double checked by a local pro tech...
WhoFan
They're humbuckers, they shouldn't be making any noises at all if they were installed correctly....none of mine do.

all right, i've saved up enough to get either one of these two
i've done a search here and the XT seems to be awesome, but i can't seem to find which of the two versions would suit be better
im mainly going to use it for home recording...
