I receive lists of a large number of rows. I would like to have Excel
automatically group based on an item that is the same. For example:
ItemDate
ah1/5/2005
aa1/12/2005
ab1/12/2005
ac1/27/2005
ad1/27/2005
ae1/27/2005
af1/28/2005
ag2/1/2005
Is there a way for Excel to automatically group the items so that if you
click on you can see all items with the same date.
ah1/5/2005
aa1/12/2005
ac1/27/2005
af1/28/2005
ag2/1/2005
Grouping Manually becomes a pain after about the 1st hundred or so groupings.
ThanksHave you tried doing a quot;sortquot; ?

You can use the Datagt;Subtotals command, to subtotal at each change in date.

www.contextures.com/tiptech.htmlThanks the Datagt;Subtotals worked. I tried using sort but that doesn't
actually group the dates like the Datagt;Subtotals. Thanks again!
