There was a recent Les Paul model that had a slab body like the specials, but with a flat, unbound figured maple top and humbuckers. Can't find it on the gibson site, or amongst their discontinued models. I know it was reviewed in the Guitar Player that had a Les Paul on the cover from a few years back.

Anyone know what this model was called, and what they can be had for?

was it a smartwood studio?

nope. those have an arched top and an oil finish. this was a flat top, and was finished. The standard colour was a trans yellow.

it was called the Les Paul Junior Special Plus. it was reviewed on the July 2002 issue of Guitar Player along with a limited colors studio, the newly revised standard, a custom authentic '68 black beauty and the 50th anniversary les paul.

There's also the Gary Moore LP, which I think is a flat top.

maybe, if I can source one. I like the slab, Jnr-style body. Thing is, it's probably not different enough to my PRS to warrant getting it.
