Okay guys, I've got my Rivera Knucklehead sounding great right now. I've got the cleans dialed in, and the distortion for what I want. I love the crunchy sound I get from my distortion channel, but I have a dilema. I am the lead guitarist in my band, and for those leads, I need to go from crunch, to more of a searing/creamy distortion. I've talked to John about modding a TS-9 or a Voodoo labs Sparkle Drive, but I was just wondering what you guys would recommend. Some say a DS-1 and others say a SD-1. All of your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The SD1 is crunchy....The TS9 is creamy and compressed...A DS1 is both crunchy and offers a singing lead tone and offers quite a bit more gain..

The Sparkle Drive is an enhanced TS9 circuit with a cool added quot;cleanquot; knob added...Sounds to me like a TS9 or the SD would be your ticket though.

Hmm....So a DS-1 would get it creamier, the SD-1 would be a little more crunchier? I want a really smooth lead sound, compared to the chuncky rhythm sound. I'm thinking SD-1 or DS-1, because Im planning to have you mod it john, and they are a little less expensive than the TS9. So DS-1 or SD-1?

The best pedal out of the 3 you mention,is the Tube Screamer for what you're wanting..

What would the DS-1 do for me?
