I've never used a talkbox before so I really don't know how they work. i don't have a mic or p.a. (i only play in my room at low volumes. I don't want to spend $150, but I found the danelectro one for $70. will i have everything i need with that one? i dont have an effects loop so can i just run it like a single pedal? will it hurt my amp at all? keep in mind this is just for messing around, i won't be performing or anything so im not concerned with it being low quality or a feedback monster.

I'm pretty sure the Free Speech can be used without a separate amp and all that. I also remember a lot of people talking about how the included mic is a POS, and replacing it with an SM57 or something similar yields much better results.
