For all you 335 owners, what pickups work best for you? I was thinking a set of PG or 59's might be a nice addition. What ever set I choose, I was thinking about having them Dunn-Aged to mellow them out a little. Or I could try some Fralins or Holmes. I want a vintage PAF tone. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I had Seths in my Sheraton and I loved them . If you want Dun-Aging, look at the Antiquities. I've never had the Ant 'buckers, but everybody says they are superb.

Seths all the way am totally over the moon with mine!

seths all the way or 59

I know its a duncan forum but life doesnt get better than a 335 with Fralin Unbuckers.

How are the Unbuckers? What would you compare them to?

Gibson Classic 57. Nuff said!

Seth Lover

a Pair of Alnico 2's.

Go with Antiquities or Seths.

I like the Unbucker idea myself. Pricey, but it would likely empahsize the airiness of the semi-hollow body and that's what I'd be aiming for. TV'trons (or GFS Retrotrons, on a budget...) would be another possible choice for that goal, though in a different way.

EDIT: Sorry, I totally missed the part where you siad you wanted a PAF sound. Disregard my suggestions.

are kind of like Antiquities but a little more complex sounding....they have a depth that has to be heard to be understood.

My fav pickups

I would stay away from seymours, and go for Gibsons.

There's always one!

Howdy,
I'm not a humbucker kind of guy, but I like my replacement 59's in my ES-335 much better than the stock quot;Dirty Fingersquot;. God, they were like..like..Heavy Metal distortion p/u's. No thanks! My '59 equipped ES-335 sounds much more like it should. Plenty of body and with enough clarity and sustain to cover just about any style. I like 59's. Eggman

I'm right there with ya, Eggman. I like the '59's in my 335 just fine.

Be Different! Put in a Dime Bucker and a EVH!
