I want it.. so bad.. so.. bad..

That would be a nice piece to add to the collection. Affordiable, also. Well, at least right now at $300.

You have very good taste in guitars. I would also love to be the owner of that guitar. I'm broke at the moment, but still a very very nice peice.
Rock On!

Apparently you guys have never dealt with a Mustang tail piece.

Nope, please tell us, how bad is it?

I love it... the guitar, not the tailpiece in particular. It's a really wacky, useless trem. And you can't adjust the action without taking the bridge out

Imagine having a trem that does none of the cool stuff a Floyd or even a vintage Fender will, now make it so you can't adjust any tension, and make it so that it will ONLY float. Seriously, going from standard to drop D will throw it out of tune.

Oh yeah, add a bridge that pivots back and forth, as well. Fender Mustangs are total pieces of sh*t, from the bridge to the pickups to the controls to the short-scale neck.

bummer, i'd never use the tremelo anyway--would probably want to lower it though.

I'm no longer interested in this guitar, but it looks perfect for ya Clockwork...

Actually looking closely this one has a TOM. so the bridge problems are gone... the trem is useless though.

I like the stock stang pickups and scale though Nothing else sounds like them for better or worse. No better clean sound except a jaguar.

I may have changed my mind... I'm going against what JB has to say... It says this had a Tune-O-Matic Bridge and DiMarzio Super Distortion humbucker, so it once again seems like a great guitar to me.

but not a real mustang anymore

Sorry, purist here I'd love that guitar personally (despite the quot;flawsquot;)

quot;Betterquot; is a VERY subjective term I hate Jaguars amp; Jazzmasters, too.

Why they put a tune-o-matic on there and left that f*cking trem is beyond me.

It is a tune-o-matic, but still has that rediculous tail piece. If you can get rid of that, and get rid of the stupid 3 way switch for each pickup, then it might be cool.

Remember, this is made to Kurt Cobain's specs, and remember how ofter you heard him playing out of tune

If you remove the trem, there's two gaping holes beneath it... Though it wouldn't be impossible (if I'm thinking correctly) to f*ck around with the trem's mechanisms and make it into a hardtail... Maybe screw a stop tailpiece into the trem plate?

EDIT Well JB, the versatility of the 3 way switch for each pickup is another thing I love about the Stang (and jags, though their system is different)... And I'm gentle enough that they do make a clicking noise, but not loudly!

Did anybody else notice the bridge pickup? It's got studs amp; slot heads... Super Ds are double rows of hex poles.

I meant they should've redesigned it to have a stop-bar tailpiece. I appreciate the 3 ways having a lot of tonal options, but it's a pain in the ass to switch from one sound to another mid-song, ya know? It'd be an ok studio guitar, but less than stellar for performance.

as cool as the guitar might be for a nirvana fan...it's all wrong compared to Kurts, and mustangs are pretty bad guitars!

hehe... if it weren't for Kurt, vintage stangs and jags wouldn't be worth a sh!tload of money relative to what one actually gets for the price. (Multithousand dollar Vintage Mustangs? come on. Even I draw the line somewhere, and I love them)

I admit that they suck in a lot of respects, but if anyone hasn't actually tried one, I urge them to.
