Hello… up for sale is my Dean Chafin Del Sol.

This is the highest model of the Korean made Chafin series. Don’t let MIK fool you, this baby has all the appointments of higher end guitars. Sweet inlays (where else do you find Sun ray inlays?... they blow away the ones on the Gibby Les Paul Standard I used to have), great craftsmanship, a real ebony fretboard, rich mahogany neck and body and a real flamed maple top (not photo flamed). What’s been done to it? The guitar is great, but stock, it had some flaws. The pickups were “Ok”, but they needed the upgrade treatment. A quality set of Dimarzio Virtual PAFs changed that. from : localhost/ These offer some sweet jazz tones, a more jangly middle pickup selection and an articulate, balanced bridge to handle even heavy distortion. The stock electronics were complete crap, so I paid a good guitar tech in the area to drill new holes to fit real US CTS pots (not the Japanese overseas smaller parts that were in there originally).

I liked the fact that it was a hollowbody at heart (with a bit of that airiness that only a good jazzbox or hollowbody has) with a construction that makes it much less prone to feedback. The quality control on this piece is amazing for the price. The frets and binding are all done well. The inlays are nice and straight - as is the neck (the most important part). There are real Grover tuners on there (the same ones that come stock on some US Gibsons) and hold their tuning well.

Any flaws? There is a small ding on the back of the neck and the upper bout has a very small ring (lightly through the top of the finish, never reached the wood). Besides that, the guitar is spotless.

This guitar also comes with its original hangtag and it will be shipped in the official Dean molded hard shell case that had to be custom purchased (it fits it perfectly snug and prevents damage that loose cases often cause).

I am asking $475 shipped and insured to the conUS. If you want a guitar that rivals US instruments, look no further. I am selling this because my current band has no use for a hollowbody guitar and I have my Grosh Bent Top Custom as my main player so it isn’t getting the attention it deserves.

The Chafin Del Sol is a very nice guitar. The fit and finish of the couple that I have picked up are indeed excellent. I'm a big Dean fan, including the import stuff....very high quality for the $$.
