Hi evrybody.im hareesh, 16 yrs old n im from india.I bought a seymour duncan sh-6 pickup and i have been
using it for 4 months. i recently cleaned my guitar including my pickups.
i cleaned my pickups with a very thin cotton bud. im not sure if it was
due to the cleaning i did, but my pickups output has reduced considerably.
i had lowered the pickup height as it had lots of output, but now even
when i raised it , there is not much output.has something happened to
the coil and is it due to coil breakage?my local guitar dealer said
that if even the tiniest break occurs this will happen. is this true?
if this is so is there anyhting i can do to fix this?i really dont
want to lose this pickup as its new and its what i had been saving for, for a long time.i really wishd i hadnt dun tat cleaning.............

somebody HELP PLZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
welcome to the forum!!
my suggestion is to bring it to the place where it was installed and have them check the dc resistance of each coil. its possible the series link (red and white wire connection) or something else came loose or you might have damaged the coil
Welcome to the forum, Hareesh. Jeremy's right. Your tech should be able to figure out the problem in no time. I hope it's a simple fix.
Thanx a lot buddies...will get it checked.hope its jus a wire whcih came loose.
My guess is that it is a wire that came loose, or maybe something is grounding out?
Welcome to the forum!
