anyone ever swap a magnet out of a single coil sized humbucker? I want to change the crummy ceramic magnet to a alnico 8 on my hot rails, any help or suggestions?
Interesting. Can it be done? quot;We have the technology...quot;
I thought those mags were epoxied on there...
Plus, they're gonna have different dimensions than the standard HB magnets.'
I can imagine its probably possible...but it'd probably be really difficult.
I think they are epoxied on there as I tried in vain to remove the ceramic magnet from my JB jr.
Sounds like a Custom Shop jobber to me. BTW, your in box is full, Unleashthejay.

You never got it off? why?
My hotraills is in my strat right now but when I take them out its experiment time! I think they are exposed, im sure ill have to rewax it or something will see
I got to the point of using a chisel and hammer and was afraid I'd F*** up a perfectly good pickup just to see if the magnet was removeable. With some tapping it seemed unmoveable. YMMV.

Doubtless he'd have to provide the magnet too.
