anyone ever play any Masterbuilt Fender Custom shop guitars? i'm looking at a Todd Krause built one (no not the ones in my other post LOL) and wondering if it's really worth the large amount of extra cash over a regular MIA or MIA deluxe?
anyone?

I have a friend who looks at a lot of high end stuff, and he really likes the Masterbuilts.
I know the first one he saw was a strat at Wild West Guitars, but I think he just got a 60s style tele (John Cruz?)
my comment was that for $4K, or whatever they cost, you should be able to get a good strat, but the fact is, he can afford one.
I could try to get more info if you want. I'm sure this stuff gets discussed quite a bit over on the Fender Forum as well.
If you are buying it for resale value, I would say go for it. I could never justify dropping $3k on a Strat when superb quality parts can be had, tweaked, and assembled for maybe a little more than half that. I'm sure you know this.
You know you are only going to mod the hell out if it anyway.
i was just browsing and one caught my eye. i passed on it though since i build a hell of a super strat myself

I have a friend quot;Richardquot; who scored a Masterbuild in Seoul Korea for $700 US...
Supernice guitar, with extra great tone and action.
For the price i rather have a Tom Anderson classic
they are nice guitars, but not that nice- especially for an insturment that isn't a 'custom' instrument...it is just a nice strat.
I love Custom Shop Fenders, but I'm a bottom feeder......it's got to be bought new for $3000 by a blues lawyer, then put on the used market for $1600.......then SNIPE, it's mine! LOL
I've had some great high dollar guitars go through my hands, but you'd laugh if you knew how much I stole them for!!! It's a reward for keeping your eyes peeled, and having cash in hand at the right time.
