Thanks to all who helped me out with my Strat pickup question. However, while in the store, I came across a really nice guitar with an H/S/S config with a Wilkinson trem and locking tuners. It might very well suit my needs better than a Strat. I have almost decided to replace the bridge pickup with a JB or a Custom. What would you guys recommend for the neck and middle positions. Think - Fusion..... I want to be able to cover a broad range....

I'm surprised that no one's jumped on this yet. There's so many cool things you can do with that configuration. I really loved that Classic Stack I got from you. The only reason I traded it was I was still trying new things out. I'll probably get another. Cool Rails, Vintage Rails, SSL-6's (tapped), are all things I've tried that I've loved. I'm particularly partial to the CR/VR combo right now. SSL-6's tapped offers a lot of versatility also.

The sky . . . er, you're wallet, is the limit.

For a noise-free set that can cover a lot of bases, a Cool Rails in the neck and a Hot Stack in the mid would balance well with a Custom or JB in the bridge while giving you good stratty tones from positions 2, 3, amp; 4.

if you are doing a fusion/cover all bases axe id say a cool rails or lil 59 neck, vintage rails/duckbucker middle with a custom bridge.
250k volume and 500k tone pots with a push/pull to split the custom

smooth neck tones, brighter cleaner middle and crunchy bridge

Hey Artie, Benjy, amp; Jeremy,

Thanks for answering my post. I thought this type of config would get a lot of responces too.

Thanks to you guys though. I appreciate it. I think I'm going to go with something kind of Fusion/traditional. Maybe I'll install a pair of the new Classic Strat Stacks when they're available. The bridge will be either a Custom or a JB.

You bring up an interesting question:

What, exactly, is the quot;soundquot; of fusion?
