Well, the family has expanded once again. Remember, I posted recently about the Parker Fly Deluxe? It's IN MY HANDS! My bro-in-law sold it to me at a ridiculous price, so I couldn't pass it up. The AIIP(n) is incredible! The Custom Custom is a bit bright, but usable. I really dig this axe.

Also, remember that I was debating what to do about my acoustic. I may have found someone else to work on it, but I don't think there is much to be done. THEREFORE, I needed a new acoustic. I don't use it frequently, but when I need it, I need something reliable.

The BAD news: The Takamine was GONE when I returned. they still had the Santa Fe (a year older), but it had a crack in the headstock. quot; That's been there since we got the guitar. It's not going anywhere.quot; Yeah, right. I'm gonna pay $800-900 for a 3 year old quot;newquot; axe with a wood flaw. PLUS, it was brighter than the EAN15C, and not as attractive.

I saw some really good deals on clearance Taylors, but still out of my price range. Then I tried the 110E...OK...bottom of the line for e/acoustic, but...The more I played this axe, the better I liked it. I played it for about 2 hours in the store...through 2 amps, and a PA. It took some minor eq tweaks (it has no controls), but it sounded good. I took her home (interest free credit *gulp*). Plugged her into the church PA. WOW! The soundtech was tweaking, then said to herself, quot;what am I doing? Let me return everything flat.quot; BINGO! Perfect!

Taylor acoustics seem bright for my taste initially, but then I notice that it is not so much brightness, but CLARITY. Every note, every string sings true and through.

Even better, after a couple of days, SHE SOUNDS BETTER! Turns out, her birth began on 5/11/05! She probably had not been in the store more than a week. I think I need to tweak the setup (they obviously did not), but even out of the box these things are SWEET!

I'll post pics as soon as I get them taken and uploaded.
So, to answer the age-old question from the younger web-surfers: Know someone and get a good deal on an expensive axe, and have good credit to get another one

Doesn't the fly have piezos...or are they not good enough? lol

They're good for some things, but not straightforward acoustic playing. It's great for switching back and forth, though.

how odd! I also bought a taylor this weekend as well! Although i got the taylor 214 with no electrics but i love it so much! At first i was a bit unsure and last night after tweaking the action and lowering the stings it plays like butter and ia gree with the brightness. At first it seemed ver bright compared to the larrivee i was looking at as it was a dread but then i decided to get the cheaper taylor and now i love it so much. The more i play it the better it sounds! Power to the low end taylors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taylor makes some pretty sweet guitars - thoughout their price range. Sounds like they made some money this weekend, or at least will make it in the future . Now I'll sit back and anxiously await pics.

It sounds like you've got the right pickups for that Parker.

Taylor really knows how to build a guitar. I've never disliked any Taylor I've played, and kinda miss my old 410.

One word of advise. Don't ever play Taylors that cost over $2200. You'll be scheming of ways to aquire it!! The Taylor 810 is definitely on my wish list. I've thought of parting with my Martin D-28, to get an 810.

Too late! I played a 512? before I played the 110E. It was a small body model that retailed at over $3k. WOW! It was sweet, and on clearance for under $2k. Still WAY out of my budget...plus, it was 2-3 years old (old-stock). I guess that is why I had reservations about the 110E at first. But after a couple of days, the 110E (I gotta name her soon) is sounding even better.

What's the construction time for Taylor's? This one began on 5/11/05. I figure she must have been on the shelf about a week when I got her. Seriously, the wood seems to be settling and the sound is getting BETTER. However, I need to tweak the setup...now where was that truss-rod thread....?

im not sure but i think the NT neck came with my 214 but im not sure about the 110e how does the enck heel look? it minght give an indictaion of the type of neck.

2 new ones eh!!!?

ROCK ON!!!

can't go wrong with any Taylor!
