Hi, I've been interested in the seymour duncan pickup booster pedal. It's exactly what I want to do to my sound. While shopping around, I noticed someone on ebay selling a selling a seymour duncan pickup booster but in extremely small form, made for installing into the guitar. This would be perfect for me, but I've never heard of this and have searched around on and didn't see it. Is this a real seymour duncan pickup booster in mini form or a fake? Is it as good as the regular pedal? Why does it have a jack included with it? Thanks for the help, this is the auction:

Does anyone have any thoughts on this preamp?

There's quite a few of us that have them, and love them. Just do a forum search for SFX-01, and you'll get a bunch of hits.

It has a nice, clean, noiseless boost, and the resonance switch is fun to play with also.

Funny . . . I didn't actually look at your link before. It is GuitarElectronics that's selling that on eBay.

So do you think this thing is just as good as the regular pickup booster? Is GuitarElectronics a reputable company or what?

GuitarElectronics is a very reputable company. I just bought some parts from them a few weeks ago. They apparently have an exclusive deal with SD to sell that unit. Its the exact same thing thats in the SFX-01.

yea guitar electronics is great to deal with and my favorite to buy from

if this is legit, i will SO need a project guitar

this is exactly what i've wanted since i heard of the product ... i'd want to wire it in such a way so that it would come 'on' (to its current setting) when selected simply by moving into pos 3 of a 5 way ...

very cool

Yup . . . I want to do the same thing. I would just switch mine in and out differently.

That looks like a great little gadget!! Why haven't I seen this before?!

I just noticed something funny relative to . . . quot;is GuitarElectronics reputable?quot;

Seymour, himself, is going to be there to meet customers next Saturday.

I guess thats a pretty good endorsement.

So have you tried the mini pup booster yet? Can anyone compare this version to the stompbox sfx-01 version? I know they are supposedly the same, just want to hear you opine!

Is this actually endorsed by ?

Yes.

Those are real. Jackson oses them as the quot;firestorm switchquot; on some models, and I´ve heard they´re every bit as good as the pedal, sans the resonance switch.

I´ll probably get one sooner than I expect, I´m starting to like bashing a gain circuit totally senseless thanks to Phoenix

How hard would it be to make one of those yourself? It seems awful expensive.

Buy a pickup booster, take it apart, figure out how to get it into your guitar

Probably won´t be cheaper, and other than reverse engineering the circuit it´s more or less the only option
