Someone was asking in a thread the other day what the new Classic Stack Plus pickups look like.
Here's a picture of a black one I got in today. They have a molded cover and a bottom plate very similar to the new style single coil size humbuckers with threaded inserts for the mounting screws.
It looks like you have to commit to a colour now... Are they covered or... ?
Yes, you must choose white or black. The cover is non-removable (I believe Evan said this was done to prevent damage to the coils)

Of course, some will want and aged white color...
So, does it come apart? I wonder if part of why the cover is like that is so it isn't easily disassembleable so people know all the specifics of the design?

Black is aged white, isn´t it
Very cool. I need to get me a guitar to put some of those in. I think I'd like 'em.

Actually, if you want to know the specifics of the design, you can read the patent application: 20050162247. It's pretty revolutionary. You'll be impressed.

For those of us who are big enough geeks to care, is it possible to find that online?

OK, here is a shot of the back. Not your typical Strat pickup .....
OK, i'm sold!
I'll definitely order one, bridge position, white color when it hit the market.

Not sure if its supposed to, but on the left hand side of that picture it says Start pickup..a common spelling error among the forums but now its on the actual pickup?

No it doesn´t.. it says quot;startquot; then quot; Pickupsquot; then quot;Strat Stack Plusquot; then quot;finishquot;
You will notice that the four corners have solder joints, THe upper part of the pic has the quot;bottom coilquot; quot;startquot; and quot;finishquot; and the lower part has the quot;top coilquot; start and finish. Notice below the rail magnet (or whatever it is) It says quot;Strat Stack Plusquot;.

Black is in stock now (hence the picture), should have white in a few days.
