Alright chickin pickers and twang bangers I want some opinions and input here. The Lil 59 Tele bridge is great, but just not workin out. I want the absolute most narly, trashy, redneckest, twangiest pup there is. What do you guys recommend?

vintage '54 maybe?

it's hard to get a lot of twang under heavy gain, so keep that in mind

brass saddles will also help

This I know my friend!!! Thank goodness for twangy old Blackfaces!!!

???anyone???

I just ordered a Jeryy Donahue Bridge for my 52RI. I an't wait to put it in. I am going to pair it with a VIntage '54 neck..... Should be exactly what I am looking for. I would also recommend you browse thru the posts in the pickup section and make a post there, you will probably get a lot more response. Hopefully Lew will chime in.... He is the Tele Guru

Thanks! I use the Jerry Donahue in one of my Teles and love it. But it's tone is more like the thicker, more midrangey tone of some '51 or '52 Teles than the steelier country twang you hear from '54 and later Teles. If it's a steely Tele Twang you're after, the alnico 2 JD might not be the best choice....although it's a great pickup. For that brighter, steelier twang I'd say try a Duncan Tele Hot Tapped. The vintage output tap (7.4K) sounds alot like a '53 Tele or the Duncan Broadcaster (one of my favorite Tele tones) and the higher output (about 15K!) is killer for snarlier and more overdriven tones. It's an alnico 5 pickup so it also has plenty of twang.
