I'm soon to order a Warmouth and am wondering what tuners you guys recommend? I'm going for a hardtail strat and want tuning stability and easy, quick restringing, oh and they need to come in black also.

Any ideas? Any in particular to go for or avoid?

Edit:I've also heard good things about Sperzels.The only ones I've had direct experience with are the Planet Waves tuners. I've had a lot of luck with them - they immediately fixed the tuning instability problems I was having on my Peavey. They also make for quick string changes.

For a Strat (or any 6-in-line), you can't do any better than locking Sperzels IMO. Smooth, precise, and solid as a rock. I have two Strats, one with Sperzels and one with the stock Fender/Schallers and they are like night and day in terms of staying in tune.

Not to mention those brushed aluminum knobs are dead sexy.

I've had SEVERAL kinds of tuners, but nothing has performed as well as the Sperzel's, Including Schaller locking....

Sperzels are fantastic. I got standard Gotoh's with my Warmoth and hate them, I'm in the process of replacing them with Planet Waves (having a hell of a time enlarging the holes though).

Sperzel is good, also the Fender locking tuners that come on the Deluxe Strats, etc., seem to work very well.

I have the Sperzels on my '57 RI Strat. I Love 'em. They do the job well. The only complaint I have about them is the hole is very small and ubder certain lighting conditions it can be hard to see to put a new string in. Other than that they perform flawlessly!

I put sperzels on my strat and it greatly increased the tuning stability. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend them.

Thanks guys.I love Sperzel locking tuners, I have them on all of my electrics. My Schecter ad Ibanez have black ones, there are links to pics in my signature.

I have a set of Sperzel locking tuners on my bass.

Not only do they make string changes really easy (no more holding the damn thing in place!) I can't actually remember the last time I had to tune it.

1 Planet Waves Tuners and Tone Pros locking bridge solved the tuning stability issues with my Epi.

Sperzels are pretty good, but I'll be honest, I liked my Gotoh locking tuners better. I'd love to try the Planet Waves sometime (I might just have to take the plunge for my Gibby).

I think Gibson guitars look better with the vintage tulip tuners

Love the Fender/Schallers. Direct drop in replacement size, standard peghole size. Easy peasy string changes and smooth operation. Love em'.
