OK i am once again looking for help.. I am planing to be another VH fan that builds a copy of Ed's 5150 Kramer.... I plan to use Car paints for the finnish.... i'll be making my own homemade alder body.... how should i prepare the wood for car spray? I have sprayed Car paint spray cans on a popular body i made in the past and it flakes off.... I used auto spray Primer on the bare wood and then started the car paint..... i'm i missing a step?

Sand and sealer first. Go to All the info you'll ever need on finishing a guitar is there.
BTW, it's poplar, not popular, although it is that too.
I've only heard good things about that site. I bet you'll be pleased with it. Let us know how it turns out. We NEED pics.

I find it hard that most of the spray products i want to order from the States i can't get here in Canada.... Because of the fire hazards they will not ship stuff across the border.... Stew Mac only will send me Water Based stufff... That Reranch site is cool! They also will not ship stuff across the border but that site has lots of tips... I read that the sanding sealer i need maybe at Home Depot.... I'll have to check it out!
