Ok guys, so today i was at guitarcenter and i played an esp ltd h-400, overall it sounded awesome through the mesa f-30 i was playing through. i Have just one question though, I know the bridge pickup is a jb, but I'm not sure what the neck pickup is. On the esp website it says its a 59 but the pickup DID say quot;seymour duncanquot; and i thought that 59's DIDNT have that on then. So is it a 59 or is it not a 59?

Alexo i have another question: how is the 5 way p/up selector switch hooked up i know that
(twards neck of guitar)
Position 1:neck p/up(series)
Position 2:?
Position 3:neck and bridge p/up(series)
Position 4:?
Position 5:bridge p/up(series)
(twards bridge of guitar)

at least that what i think it is. I would like to know what position 2 and 4 are. and if 1,3,5 are wrong correct those too.
thanks
alex

bump(on a log).

The 59 is a pickup model just like a jb. Its a 59, the JB and 59 are a popular combo.

because the pickup is original equipment in the ESP it says on it...that is the famous JB/59 combo!

Okay then, question one answered and thanks to both of you. Now on to question two:

Hmm, 2 and 4 could be the pickup being coil tapped. I'm not sure though.

I'm think that 2 was the neck hum in parrellel but im not sure and 4 sounded like a combo of slip coils but dont no which ones probably both inside but whos knows.

O and would a tune o matic/stopbar bridge/tailpiece work good for either drop c or drop b?

(I think I'm pretty sure about the pickup switching so you dont have to anwer that but if you know for sure you can chime in and post it if you feel like it.)

Im talking about if the ball end would possibly hang out the end of the stopbar.

Nope, it'll work just fine. One thing you do want for low-tunings is Fender scale (25.5quot;) necks. Gibson (24.75quot;) will work fine, but the longer ones are better.

Thanks jb. the guitar has a 25.5'' scale so it will be ok.
Thats all i needed from this thread. thanks to everyone who helped out.
