wich pickup would you guys choose for the bridge position on a washburn WI64 idol series guitar...the anderson h3 ,rio grande BBQ,dimarzio breed, duncan custom custom..all all very well spoken of here and on HC.its bin a really tough call as these seem to be the first ones to choose for a really FAT arse sound for a high gain sound.the idol series guitar seems very light, and even thow its body is mohagony,it feels to be on the bright side of things.might just be the crappy stock washburn.for sum unknown and strange reason the neck pickup seems to be the extreme oposite,VERY BASSY.
im putting a duncan 59 in the neck.already have and love the JB in my strat, but wanted something diferent, but with balls!!!question is,which one to choose.never thoght id consider a dimarzio before as i hate the tone zone.
im very much in between the duncan sh-11,rio grande BBQ,dimarzio breed and anderson h3 ,lookin for a full out and FAT les paul rock sound.
PLEASE HELP

ok let me make this a little easier, how about between the BBQ and the Breed?

Why do you hate the TZ?

well it was in the bridge of an ibanez rg 470 japan and despite bieng really powerfull and punchy it was too much over emphased on all frequencies, not ballanced at all.too much highs with everything else in between.
bummer, nobody seems to know of any sugestions...breed or BBQ??anderson maybe? i gess ill just have to try them myself

I Have the Dimarzio Breed in the Bridge possy of my Strat. Very big sounding with huge mids that make this pickup scream when it comes to lead work(good thing). For what you're after id say its a good pick.

BBQ will take off alot of brightness and give it alot of girth. The pup is around 12.7k

Breed, but you've got to try both the bridge and neck model.

PLEASE HELP This is pretty painful to read.

so both of them seem to have the same output i guess...
now wich of the two would give me a FAT AND BALSY SOUND?
im beginning to think both!!!

Sometimes the BBQ can be too dark, depending on the guitar. If your LP has a bright unplugged sound, and you want a thick, warm tone, then it would probably work well for you. Make sure you're using 500k control pots with the BBQ, some LP's come stock from the factory with 300k pots, which will make the pickup even darker.

Ryan

The Breed is a very good choice, nice powerful chunky mids makes a thin sounding guitar sound more lespaully, has alot of bite and cuts through well for leads definetly for a strat style gat.

thankyou all for the posts.im most likely
going to try both of them.even thow i just order an anderson, which is considered dark as well.thanks on the tip on the 500 k pots.would a 1000k pot brighten the sound even more?
the breed and the BBQ in the washburn les paul(more like an SG).
from : localhost/any of you heard or have played it? :fing25:
also anyone here played with a guitar equipped anderson pickup(not bieng an anderson itself)?

Ryan, I thnk he has to consider the particular guitar liek you said. Mine is medium to bright unplugged and 500k pots will not work in this guitar...even with Rios. Believe me, I tried.

Yes a 1 meg pot will brighten the tone. I use them

use 1 meg pots in which guitars and pickups?

the strange thing is that unplugged the sound is more bassy than my strat´s.its definitly on the bass and mid side, even thow its very light weight.plugged in makes it really ice picking on the bridge and very bassy(too much id say)in the neck position.they both are washburn stock pickups.
DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE

I use a 1 meg in my LP
