Ive been using my Marshall Mg head for gigs and practices with my band, but im getting fed up with it and its lack of tone, nothing sounds good coming from it. I have a Hughes and Kettner edition tube 20 that i want to start using for live performances. It has great cleans, but the distortion is more laid back and doesnt have the low end chunk or growl that im looking for. After some debating ive decided to try and use a pedal to run for my overdriven tones. Im looking for a smooth, chuncky tone. Kind of like Adam Jones meets Lamb of God meets puppets era Metallica. I dont use a ton of gain either, so i dont need some super high gain beast. I was thinking about trying the boss super overdirve, but i dont know if it will give me the growl im looking for. I was also looking at some of the marshall pedals, but ive never played any and dont know how they sound. Any one have any suggestions? any help would be appreciated. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg either, im looking for something around $100 or cheaper, so im not looking for any boutique pedals.

The marshall Jackhammer is a pretty cool sounding versatile pedal, and pretty cheap, i suggest you go and try some, there a hell of alot of pedals out there that can do your job, so its important to just find the one most suited to you.

ya, im just trying to narrow down my search right now, i dont want to go to my local shop and have to go through every overdrive pedal they have.

Thats the best damn pedal I've ever heard, I love the thing.Its like tone in a box for $84.95.
