Yesterday I was picking out my Christmas gift (new guitar) at the local guitar center. Now, I was looking at different guitars for awhile and one I really liked was the Fender Classic Series 50s Strat. But it was 300 dollars more then I could afford. So I go inside going to choose a new Standard Strat.
So I walk in and see on a stand the 50s strat I had wanted, in the same color I had really wantd it in (Surf Green). I walk over and look at the price tag...350 dollars! Same as the Standard! It was used, but completely stock, other then a pearloid pickguard, which makes the surf green look even better. So after about half an hour of testing I paid and walked out of the store with my new Strat.
There are no flaws except for one scratch on the back of it, right near the tremolo cover, half covered by it as well. It plays like a dream and the tremolo has really opened my playing, and I haven't lost tuning with it once
Overall, I don't think my luck could get any better at this point
Awesome! That's exactly why I love Guitar Center
Great score!
Enjoy the new axe!!
you got a good guitar at a great price. enjoy and merry christmas
Nice axe.
Imagine the poor sap that traded in a $600 guitar for $175...
I'm jealous... I need a surf green strat
slade
Nice. How is GC on negotiating prices?
About negotiating prices...Get to know someone there...If they like you and/or know you by name, you will get an extra 5% or so off...
Congrats on the Strat! Dont forget to update your signature with your new axe!
Thats pretty stingy... Local shop around me the staff have been told they can't go past 20% but you can get them down to about 25% if you beg them on your knees
I mean an additional 5% added onto the savings you can get out of any sales rep.
