I can trade my dsl to a 30th anniversary
is this a good deal ?
Only if the 30th Anniversary is the EL-34 version. Most were 6L6 (5881).
If it's a blue one, trade it regardless because it's collectible.
The 6L6 ones actually did sound really good, but the real Marshall sound is EL-34.
I recently played through a 6l6 loaded 30th anniversary recently and it was great. Had features and tone to boot. I would of bought it if I had enough money.
Yeah, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the 6L6 version. It sounds great. You can't interchange tubes on that amp though....even with a rebias. The EL-34 version is the more desireable one of the two.
For a 30th 6100LM (5881 version) in decent shape, yeah its a pretty fair trade. For an 6100 with EL-34's, its a bit of a stretch, but I'm sure you could swing it. Now for a blue one, its not an even trade, mainly due to their to how rare they are. They are not super rare, but they are highly sought after.
I once owned a jcm 900 with 6l6 and it had a better sound on drive channel than my dsl has , but I wanted a nicer clean sound wich de dsl has...
now I dont know if the 30th anniversary has el34 or 6l6 but anniway I've been testing and it has a great clean and 2 nice drive channels wich has a better balance of equalizing
only 1 thing I dont like on the 30th is that there's no reverb, but thats no problem, I can use a holy grail or something
