My new '79 reissue Dean V. I haven't actually taken possession of it yet but Tim @ CenterStageMusic has posted some pics of it on the Dean Forum per my request before I PayPal him. Hopefully I'll get it some time next week. Once I've had a chance to put it through it's paces I'll post a review along with more pics. I understand the stock pups aren't too bad but if they aren't I have my eyes on a Custom/59 set I think. I'll keep y'all posted. I love new stuff!

damn. thats the exact V i am looking at lol, a white dean '79. I believe its the same type the guy from Fireball Ministry plays, Dean makes kick ass guitars.

The title of this thread sounds dirty

Not a fan of white guitars, or the big headstock.

Different strokes. Actually this is a result of my quest for a fun amp; flashy guitar that will be visible on a dark stage. After watching a friend play his white/maple Strat onstage I knew it had to be white. I too was first turned off by the untraditional headstock. But then it occurred to me that by being untraditional it was just what I was looking for...something different. Now I just gotta figure out where I can get some fuzzy, white sheepskin covers for it.

I think it looks waaaay cool. That's a wicked axe~!

Man I love those looks. I had a Dean V in red way back in 86. It was a great guitar, wish I still had it. Congrats!

As someone that owns two florescent guitars, I know exactly what you're talking about!!!

That V scares me!

Ha, that headstock v looks about the same size as that body v in the pick.

that headstock is HUGE!!!

the axe looks so tiny in comparison.. but to me it looks a bit odd .. hmm the whole shape of the body is a little off =P

but cool nonetheless.. i like white guitars

Great looking piece of wood, there! Those Dean's are pretty bad ass guitars!!

Congrats, man!

If i was to have a V, that would be it!

Thus axe looks really cool, espacially from behind.

However, you got to do something with the pickups, it doesn't fit lookwise.

Did you play it now ? What does it sounds like ?

Yup..real nice...congrats!

I've never had a Dean V (but did have a POS Dean strat with a kahler in the mid 80's ), but i love the Gibsons.

I have to agree the Bamp;C pups don't look so good...I'd go with some nickel cover BB's or 59's personally...or white coils.

the reason i like Deans as opposed to gibsons IS the headstock, i love the quot;wingedquot; headstock

Did you ever see Joe Satriani play his chrome guitar onstage? I saw him w/ Steve and Yngwie on the G3 tour a couple years ago. Not only does that chrome guitar pick up every glimmer of light, it literally shoots it back into the audience like a lighthouse shining a beam of light over a sea of heads and fists.

Killer guitar... I just got a new V, too (Epiphone Goth '58). I think a white one is next

I dig it. nice find

Those late 70s Deans ROCK! I love my 79 Z Standard. The pickups that came stock aren't bad, but I dumped an Invader into the back end and bypassed the tone control on it. The thing screams! Nice looking guitar, man.
