Can someone help to explain the main differences in everything about these two pickups? Maybe preference?
I'd also like to know if the Breed has a nice vocal quality to it when you really dig into notes.
Thank you.

Hey everyone, i'm thinking of setting up a home studio before I go off to university to study Sound Engineering next year.
Now, I need some advice on what setup to put together. I think the current options are:
1. A Mac with the M-box and Pro Tools (havent decided on the exat Mac specs yet, need some guidance on that.)

It made me wonder..What amp did Randy use on that song? As far as pickups go, I think I remember I've seen you guys say he used DD/Jazz..I could remember wrong though, my memory sucks..But does anyone know what amp he used?
It was a 100watt Marshall head with a MXR Distortion ... not sure about the cabs but probably Marshall. On Blizzard they used a Variac and dropped down to 90 volts.

What is the adventage of higher watt amps if you can't crank them anyway without an attenuator? Is it possible to get the tone of 100 watt marshalls with a 10 watt tube amp designed to give the same tone? I know that more watts gives you more headroom, but what else?

Well, i have serious gas for a Schecter C-1 Classic, which is'nt a very expensive guitar, i've seen it for $500-750 on musicians friend and guitar centre on the internet. So i guessed that i could call a shop here in norway and order one for a resonable price.
And guess what? They want 1600 dollars for one of them!
That is just plain robbery, or what do you think?!

from : localhost/do you have like, 3 of EACH string in each saddle? its a kool idea i just wanna know how it works
It just changes the tension on each string separately. Looks like you adjust the offset with the allen screws. So, instead of retuning say, you E string down to D, you just flip the switch.
I think having an extra guitar would be easier.

Hey all, noticed there has been a real lack of talk regarding the duncan 7 string pickups. I recently bought an Ibanez RG1527, and i must say the stock pickups in it are noisy and lack chord defination. Currently thinking of duncans to throw in. More or less figured i'd like to have either the SD 59-7 in the neck, but for the bridge, having a problem deciding. Personally for the 6 stringers i like the custom custom in the bridge, but since they don't have this model for 7s, will the duncan custom in the bridge cut it?
Really would like to have that midrange, smooth highs, singing lead tone for instrumental ballad work.
Hope you guys can offer some insight. Thanks.

I just picked up I on U and my God is it awesome. I knew it would be great, but its some of the most soulful playing ive heard in a long time and his tone is spectacular. I know he was probably using his Les Paul with the Floyd Rose, but what about his amps? And if you havent heard it... Do your self a favor.
Thanks
Neal (not quot;Neilquot;) is a major gear slut but he's been using a lot of Diezels on stage lately.

The vast majority of guitars manufactured have rosewood fretboards more so than any other wood. Is there any specific reason?
Cheaper than ebony, and it's got the dark look. Maple = bright, rosewood = dark. If you put in more money you get ebony which is darker! Dun dun
At least that's how I see it. If it's not the reason then it'd probably be because of its tonal proprieties.

I've had this MIJ Epi Elite LP Std. (purists - it says Les Paul on the headstock!) for about a week and a half now and I can't believe how fantastic these are. Warm smooth tone, the playability of the neck, the balance of it. Even the pickguard is the perfect height to anchor my pinky against the bridge pup (yeah, I'm an anchorer). And the weight isn't really much of a negative either as some say. I've been through about 8-10 guitars over the last couple of years including a Wolfgang, Gamp;L, PRS SE, and this is the one that fits like it was tailor made.
There's nothing like the real thing! IME only a Les Paul sounds like Les Paul...some of the other stuff like the PRS single cuts, Hamer amp; Heritage get close but not really quot;therequot;.

Hi evrybody,
i'm Michele from Italy.
i'm going to buy a new wha. in the past i had a crybaby original and i wasn't ever satisfied of. too thin, little sweep, no middle sounding and no vocal at all.
i play a les paul classic..i'm trying o get slash wah tone ( scom, civil war and so on.)
I have the opportunity to buy for the same price a used vox 847 with true bypass mode, a used ex demo 848 or a new cry baby classic or a vintage vox from early '70.

Quick question... why is that ESP can make 24 fret bolt on necks but warmoth can only do 21 fret necks (I'm excluding extended fretboards with this question).
I assume the reason for warmoth is compatibility with strats... so perhaps the question is how does ESP make 24 fret bolt ons?
Same way Ibanez does the 24 fret wizard necks... the neck pocket is closer to the bridge and the neck itself is physically longer than a strat neck. This requires pickups be moved closer to the bridge.
