I heard from Yorkville sound that Traynor now has a 12quot; extension cabinet for the new Traynor Blue 50 amp. It's apparently an 8 ohm match for the Blue 50 combo. Here is the contact if you need more information.

I have a pickguard loaded with three Quarter Pound Strat pups that I happen to really like. Recently I got the idea of maybe making the whole setup more flexible by using the Tapped version with a set of push/pull pots instead. So I went out on eBay to find one just to try it out and see. I haven't installed it, but I tested the DC resistance with my meter and found the Red/Black wire pair to read 7.1k but the White/Black wires gives me zip. So I figured great, a broken pickup. So I went out and got another one which just came today. Dug out my meter and sure enough, the Red/Black leads read about 7.2k and the White/Black pair again couldn't even make the meter blink.
Am I doing something wrong or did I just get unlucky twice in a row?
Thanx.

The Gibby pups (R490 amp; T498) in my LP have gone microphonic, so I ordered a C5b amp; '59n to replace them. I just got a call from the music store amp; was told the only SD pups I can get with gold covers is the '59, Jazz amp; JB. What a bummer! I guess I could get the JB/Jazz combo, but it's not really want I want.
If I get the Gibson pups wax potted that are in there now, will that solve the microphonic problem?
Thanks

ive got a few, even though i dont plan on going to one anytime soon...just personal knowledge...
how much does it cost? is it hourly rates? day rates? week rates? do the prices normally include the tapes (or hardrives)? rates include engineer?
Depends on the studio with about all those questions. Most rates are hourly. If you plan to stay for a while and they are lacking business, they could give you a cheaper rate say weekly or monthly.

I can't believe I'm doing this guys Up for sale is my mint condition 1960 RI Gibson Les Paul Special DC. First and foremost are pics (and I took a lot of them, this guitar deserves nothing less): from : localhost/photobucket.com/albums/v298/t...is/For Sale/ I purchased this new from Saul at Centre City Music in San Diego back in March of this year. It has been played sparingly at home (mostly kept in its case) and it hasn't been taken out of the house (definitely no gigs with it).
I have three other guitars that are beatup that I can use live so this one just isn't getting used. I'm slowly trying to condense down on the amount of money I have invested in my gear and I could use some of the money to work on paying off my new car. Something has to go and this is the most expensive piece of gear I own, so unfortunately it must go.
This has a number of improvements over the stock RI 0 LP Special DCs. I asked over on the Gear Page for advice on the finest guitar tech in CT and Chris Tatalias from Eastcoast Music Mall was brought up (he is also an authorized Gibson repairman). I had Chris take out the old nut and put in a fresh new bone one (he filed it as well). The tailpiece is a genuine Gibson lightweight aluminum wraparound (these retail brand new for roughly $120). The stock studs were replaced with TonePros locking studs for less movement, better energy transfer and sustain. The stock in-line Kluson tuners were taken out and replaced with everybody's favorite Sperzel locking tuners (ask anyone who owns these about the stock Klusons, they're absolute garbage). Out of the box it needed a setup and Chris did an awesome job with it. The intonation is almost dead on and that's unheard of for a wraparound bridge guitar. There is no need for new pickups, the stock Gibson ones are great. It gets great jazz box tones in the neck, jangle in the middle position and a crunchy, snarling bridge.

I managed to finish re-wiring my Edwards LP with the Jimmy Page wiring at about 2am, only to find out that I get no sound at all!
I've checked and double checked, everything is where it should be and all the grounds are OK, no wires touching as far as I can see...
Anyone know of any other reason why I get silence?....

I recently got the pickups i ordered: Duncan distortion trembucker and two hot rails. I`ve got 1tone 1vol and a five way selector from my old jackson dinky. I hav`nt found any chematics just right for this, i tried the one for 1 humbucker and two single coils, 1tone 1 vol and the five way switch from : localhost//forum/images/attach/jpg.gif , instead of using the white leads from the singles I used the black hot ones from the hot rails, soldered the red and white together and soldered green and blank to ground on both, same with the trembucker. Did i do the right thing? Ive got some sound, but its very very noisy, and low output . maybe its just the grounding that`s abit out of wack? bad soldering maybe? I`ve installed mics before, but it was active emg`s, so i did`nt have to think much about grounding and stuff. I dont have very much experience, but I really wanna learn more, so i dont wanna just bring it to the store.
Oh, and, the hot rails, they look abit different. One has a base plate, the other one does`nt, and its taller. Are they exactly the same? If not, which one should be in neck/middle ?
All help very much appreciated!

Sometimes at band rehersals I play through a Mesa F-50 Combo. When using the gain for the hard rock/heavy metal stuff, it cuts through with ease. However, when switching to the clean tone it seems as if my playing just disappears?!
Can anyone help me out with this problem?
I have this same problem with my MESA if I'm not using the solo switch. It seems as if the notes just aren't fluid and sustainy enough.

Well... i just bought a brand new washburn flying v body (basswood, 4-bolt neck joint). It has the pickups, controls and pots already installed and working, though it needs a bridge and tailpiece (les paul style) and of course... a neck. Should i order parts from a part house like Mighty mite or warmoth, even though ill have to pay a lot of import tax to get them over here .. or should i scour ebay?
thanks
scour ebay first. it will prolly be cheaper in the long run. Try to make sure you can get most if not all of it shipped from the same seller though.

Sorry, no one replyed to my previous thread, maybe i didnt make it very clear.Im wanting to know if a duckbucker in the neck and a phat-cat in the bridge would work out ok? Im wanting vintage sound and i want to try to get output levels fairly close so they dont fight each other, and i also want a pretty quiet guitar.
thanks.
I don't see why it wouldnt work out, what guitar are you putting these into?

I had bought a rio grande BBQ for my strat....a good pickup but it doesn't seem to get that quot;chunka chunkaquot; sound I like......thinking about either one of these PUPs next...........suggestions?
this would be better suited for the pickup lounge
I use a full shred. Very crunchy, but not alot of bottom.
