Guitar Center prices...negotiable?
I'm ordering a Schecter 006 Elite from GC this weekend (they have to special order it, i have to put the full price down before they order it). I think the list is like 550. Will I be able to talk them down? I'd order it online but I can't find anywhere that has them without a huge wait.

Xpression vs G-Major
I'm shopping for a cheap but decent effects unit that I won't be scared to use live for either theft or reliability reasons, and have narrowed it down to these two on the basis that they fit the price range and are footswitchable for live use. So I'm curious if anyone here has experience with either/both of these units, and if so how do they compare?
I used to own a Rocktron Intelleffect and still own an IntelliPitch. I also have a G Major in my rack. I have yet to check out the Expression hands-on but it looks to bridge the gap between the IntellEffect and the G Major. It's definately worth giving a demo if you can get your hands on one. Rocktron makes some very nice rack units and now that they have expanded the funtions it should kick butt.
I like the G Major quite a bit as well and I get some great tones out of it. Some folks complain that the controls and processor in the G Major can be quirky but I've had good luck with mine.

Upgrading to Tube
Recently I've realised that I'm getting more into Guitar, and that my Valvestate Marshall just isn't cutting it. I've toyed with the idea of upgrading to tube, but I've always dismissed it because I always feel like I need to drop three grand on a JCM 800 or something.
-Can I buy a great tube amplifier for around $ 1,000 (maybe more)? I'm not attached to the idea of getting some monster head and a big 4x12. An awesome combo is more than fine.
-I'm looking for versatility. I don't just play metal or just play jazz. I need something that covers everything, and covers it well.

Mesa 412, Avatar 412, or Mojo Tone 412???
I think it's 412 time for me. I just wanted to get opinions on which you would buy. I've saved up and money isn't a issue for this one, I'm going for tone. But if I can get one and save a hundred bucks, hey, it's a hundred bucks as long as the tone is there...
Here's how it goes:

Problem with PODxt and Line 6 Edit:
Hey guys, I just opened up my PODxt and I hooked it up to Line 6 Edit. Now the I connected the USB cable from the USB jack on the PODxt to the USB port in the computer, and Line 6 Edit won't recognize my PODxt. How do I get it to recognize the PODxt via the USB cable? I don't have one of those MIDI things and don't know what they are, they didn't come with the POD, only the USB did.
I pressed the Line 6 Edit and then continue, and then it was loading the Line 6 Edit. At around 40% it stopped at quot;configuring editorquot;. It opened up something that read:

Hot Rails w/ SSL-5 ?
Recently dropped a Hotrails PU in the bridge position and I have been on a quest to figure out what PU's I want to drop in the neck and middle positions of my Strat. I keep coming back to the SSL-4 and SSL-5's. My overall goal here is versatility and a nice, fat, warm tone. I play in two bands--Clasic rock and blues. Any thoughts, feedback or suggestions appreciated.
Thanx!
Mike

New Guitar
i just got my Agile AL2500, and the thing is CRAZY...for $254(including shipping) this thing is WELL worth it. the pickups aren't even 1/2 bad either..jsut as good maybe even better then my EMG HZ H4's in my other guitar. i really do love this guitar...it's WAY better then i expected and looks REALLY REALLY classy...only flaw was the binding on the tip of the headstock was a little rough in one spot..but really...who cares lol...Agile is most definitly worth the price!
Take some pic's for us. I love new stuff....mine or other peoples...doesn't matter. Congrats.
Very cool man, I need to pick up an LP from them soon. Pics!

DiMarzio Virtual Hot PAF
Can anyone tell me more about this pickup? Comparisons to Duncans would help, too.
I can't offer any help, but I am quite interested in the resulting conversation, because I am currently shopping all of the various pickups offered by both companies in the so called 'PAF' ballpark.
If you have not already, try the search function, I don't know much about this pickup myself, but I know it's been discussed on the forum more than once.

Accessory prices around the world
Hi everyone!
I was just planning on buying a new set of strings, and maybe a new volume pot for my EMGs.. I was wondering how much stuff like that costs around the globe, and do those prices affect your maintenance in any way?
I have to pay about $ 10/8 ? for a set of strings, unless I go with steel strings, which cost way more. This makes me change strings less often, and keep them clean better.
Oh, I reside in Finland, north Europe.

leslie rotating speaker
what is a leslie rotating speaker worth? i know theres tons of pedals that replicate the sound, but i have never ran across a real original leslie until now. they are askin $400 for it and it has been sitting in an old warehouse for years. is there anything i should check on it before buying it? what kind of problems are common to them? i am not very familiar with them at all so any info about them would be greatly appreciated.
It's best to browse eBay to find out what the various types of Leslies are, and how much they cost. Quality runs from full-blown, furniture quality restorations down to units ready to be parted out. There's still a good a good supply of parts available for repairs.
Most real Leslies are one of two types: the big wooden cabinets, and the black vinyl combo types.
