Ok, this one has no electric guitar, but tons of guitar synth...and the delay thead in the other room prompted me to demonstrate the way I use long delays.
The nylon guitar is 1 track, although I looped it with a Digital Echoplex in real time (about a 10 second loop)...that is, I played a phrase, let it repeat and added more to it, then finally 'punched out' of the loop and played the melody, with adding subtle things to the loop as it went on. After that guitar was recorded, I added the orchestral stuff- piano, cello, strings, bells, etc...the harp is a real harp I own, and kinda play a bit...it is a nylon string folk harp. This was written for a friend's digital art portfolio (she is a photgrapher), and she needed some background music for her powerpoint presentation. Sorry it is a zip file, but I wanted her to be able to d/l it rather than stream.
Anyway, here ya go..

I have an old Gibson pickup from a 1986 Les Paul Custom-how much would it cost to have SD rewind the pickup to EVH ('78) specs, and change the magnet assuming the stock magnet is wrong?
They can turn that PU into a '78 model for about $85.00 shipping. Right now, you are looking at 12-16 weeks for turn-around (regardless of what anyone else tells you).

HI, I received my Pearly Gates neck pickup for my Les Paul today, in stalled it per the instructions, nothing. I reinstalled my Gibson pickup AND a different Gibson pickup both worked fine.
Now, I've done this before, 4 conductor, red and white together, green and wire together and soldered to the pot, black wire to the third leg of the pot. I tried it three times and I get an almost inaudible tone with the volume at 5 I get nothing on 10 and of course nothing on 1. Anyone see anything blatantly wrong?
Oh, this is connecting to an RS pre-built kit that has been installed for some time now.

Well, I walked into GC today hoping to buy a Gibson Les Paul Faded DC that I liked the last time, but to my surprise it had sold. I'm taking this as a sign that I should be looking around more for p90 guitars. I played an Ibanez JS700 that was surprisingly good (liked it more than the PRS SE and Epi Goldtop).
After playing the Ibanez through a used Hughes amp; Kettner Triamp (I actually kinda missed it), I knew I had found *my* tone. The neck was warm and it sung (not thin at all), the middle chimed and the bridge crunched like nobody's business. This is the type of guitar I NEED to get.
Right now I'm leaning towards an all mahogany P90 guitar and I could use some advice as to what brands or models I should look at. I was looking for a Hamer to fit my description, but I haven't had any luck.

Hey guys...Here's another Modded MP1 Clip. I'm trying to mess around with my ghetto fabulous recording setup and at least get it to produce something near decent results I didn't really mess with the MP1's tone controls too much though, I dialed the gain and bass down, but there's still a ton on tap, so I'm gonna work on making it cleaner/crisper next time.
Setup was M100 with Duncan Distortion into modded ADA MP1, front end of a JC120 Head, then into a Blue Voodoo 4x12.

I Have A 90 Mim Tele. My Local Shop Has An Antiquity II Neck Pu For About 100usd. I Want To Have It Put Into My Tele And Add A 5 Way Selecter Switch. This Is Similar To A Set Up A Friend Has In His Mim Tele But It Came Stock With The Fender Hb In The Neck And The 5way Switch. We Both Play Slide And He Has Some Evil Tone. Is This A Sensilble/ Feasable/compatible Set Up?

How hard is it to play a guitar with no inlays other than the 12th fret? im thinking aobut buying one with just the 12th, and theres nowhere near me where i can play on out. whats itl ike?
If you can close your eyes and still play songs then inlays are for decoration only.
Most guitars with no inlays have side markers which are generally in-view more than inlays anyway.

Alright, I'm thinking about snagging a Pedalsnake to simplify my setup/teardown. What I'm thinking is to have 3 guitar lines (effects loop send, loop return, and the guitar signal running from my board to the front of the amp) and then the problem child... the amp footswitch.
My amp is a Mesa Rectoverb, which uses a 5-pin MIDI cable to connect the footswitch to the amp. Now, with my pedalboard, I can attach the switch unit to the board and leave the cable coiled up under the panel it's mounted on no problem, that's how I store it. So I'm thinking I could just leave the end of the cable sticking out a bit, and plug the Pedalsnake into it there and at the amp. the only problem is that the Pedalsnake's MIDI ends are all male, and I need a female at the quot;pedal endquot;. Would this adapter fix me up perfectly, or do I need to ask the folks at Pedalsnake if they can arrange for a female end?
