I've seen a few threads about Line 6 vs. Vox Valvetronix, but now I want to hear about the Line 6 products vs. other Line 6 products.
How much better does the POD XT sound than the regular POD? Also, what is effected by the 2.? upgrades? How does XT Live and the rackmount POD Pro XT sound compared to all these units? Do the heads sound better than a POD Pro with a power amp?
I'm talking about the sound quality on recordings, as well as being used with amps and PA systems.

This will be a bit long, but I just want you to understand why I think how I think (in other words, why you shouldn’t think I’m nuts ).
Since 2002, I’m on a quest for an amp. I stopped playing electric for a decade or and I got back to it in 2002. Since then I bought/rented these amps, in this particular order:
Roland Cube 30

i've been really digging hendrix alot lately in his gentler songs from his blues compilation. A different style, but rooted in tradition. Aggressively smooth is how i'd describe it. A good blues interpreter in my book, and he wouldn't take 30 minute solos to butcher his own playing.
Who do you guys like? I guess my own style is a cross between SRV, Hendrix, Clapton, and charlie christian in some aspects.
Scott Henderson

I'm trying to get near Clapton's Beano tone. Instead of spending the $'s on the Marshall Bluesbreaker combo, I want to try and mod my Peavey Classic 30. Do you think that swapping the stock speaker and tubes for a Greenback and Groove Tube KT66HP's (touted as the tubes Clapton used) will set me on that road?
J
I have a Classic 30. Personally, I would not put a Greenback into that amp. I tried it and IMO it was horrible. The OD channel on the C30 can be rather harsh if you're not carefull and the Greenback seems to specialize in extended upper mid's and highs. In a darker amp a Greenback is great but not in a C30. You might be better off with either a Weber Blue Dog or a Hellatone 30.

Hey everybody, I'm new around these parts, and I've got a bit of a question to ask.
Well, I'm in the middle of a move right now, and while I have my guitar on me, to properly take measurements and compare dimensions, I'd have to remove my pickup braces, and there isn't a single, solitary screwdriver in the house.
I realize that Phat Cats are said to be direct retrofits for MOST (that's the keyword, my friends... at least, when you're paranoid like me) guitars, but I've recently had some terrible experiences with replacing parts on my Epiphone, so I'm a little... quot;cautiousquot;, let's just say.

I've been thinking and I can't for the life of me recall ever seeing P90s in a strat. I mean, Fender puts out half a dozen new oddball strats each year and the Strat has got to be the most often modded instrument on the planet and yet...other than a vague recollection of a Gamp;L model (and even then, I'm not sure that I'm not remembering one of their Teles and just changing the shape a bit) I can't recall ever seeign anyone put P90s in a Strat.
You know...I've been looking for a project...and nothing's easier to find than a cheap Strat copy...

Ok I did this for you quot;soft guysquot; that like this ballad metallica stuff. I hope you guys enjoy it, this time my guitar is in tune and there are no timing problems. If someone could please do some vocals I would really appreciate it, thanks. I did all of the guitar parts because I didnt use a backing track because of its wierd timing. Hope you enjoy, here is the link:

I'm thinking about getting a 30-inch scale baritone guitar, and was wondering what pickups to get for it. I'm pretty sure an Invader would be most appropriate, and I'll probably get one for it. But, what pickup would you suggest to go along with the Invader, which positions would you put both pickups, and why would you choose that combo? Also, any suggestions that don't include the Invader are welcome and will be taken into serious consideration if enough reason is there. The instrument is made of basswood and has a bolt-on maple neck with rosewood board, if this information is important to your suggestion. Thanks for all contributions in advance.
Oh ya, forgot to mention, if I do decide to get it, it will be used as a short scale bass, not a guitar.
I'd go with a Jazz/59 combo. I know it seems like it'll be really low output, but that contributes to clarity, which, IMHO, is something very desireable in a baritone. This set will keep your lows tight and your top end bright and spanky.
